How to set up mobile Internet on an Android smartphone? Methods for connecting and setting up the Internet on a smartphone How to connect mobile Internet on LG

The easiest way to set up mobile Internet on a smartphone is to order automatic settings from your mobile operator. In principle, automatic settings should come to you automatically (pardon the tautology) after you insert your SIM card into your smartphone for the first time. If for some reason this does not happen and you cannot order automatic settings, then you will have to configure your mobile Internet connection manually. We will look at how to do this using a smartphone as an example. LG Optimus Black based on the Android 4.0.4 operating system and mobile operator MTS Ukraine.

Press the “Menu” button and select “Settings” in the menu that appears. In the menu that appears, select “More”

In the “Wireless Communications” menu we are interested in the “Mobile networks” item. In “Cellular Network Settings”, select “Access Points (APN)”.

If you do not have a single access point in this menu, then you need to press the “Menu” key and select “Create APN”.

If the access point already exists, then you need to go into it and check that the entered settings are correct.

Subscribers of other mobile operators can configure mobile Internet on their smartphone in the same way, only the access point name and APN will be different. You can find them on the operator’s websites.

The possibilities of the modern Internet are simply amazing; now every owner of a smartphone or tablet can easily surf websites, communicate on social networks and even play online games. Having bought a gadget with the function of faster and more advanced 3G Internet, the owner of the device does not know how to enable 3G on LG; we have devoted this review to answering this question.

In most cases, 3G high-speed Internet mode is already active on the smartphone, unless, of course, it supports this function. A SIM card from a cellular operator should also have the appropriate functionality. Both of these conditions are required, otherwise you won’t be able to use 3G at all, so when buying a smartphone and a SIM card, make sure that they support this feature.

If the signal is good, you will see “3G” next to its indicator, this means that the service is active and you can use all the functions of your phone to the fullest. If this icon does not appear, go to the settings of your smartphone, you can activate high-speed Internet here.

  • If, when you try to connect to the network, your phone constantly gives an error and you cannot solve the problem yourself, contact LG service center specialists for professional help. This way you will receive a full range of services: hardware diagnostics and repair of all models of LG smartphones.

This instruction will allow you to enable 3G on an LG smartphone of any model, the main condition is that the device runs on the Android operating system.

Go to the phone menu, usually this is a gear icon. Here you need to select the “MORE” item, it is located in the first column with headings, go to “mobile network”. In this section you can see various additional network settings, including “3G settings”. Click on this section and proceed to selecting parameters.

Here you will see such gadget operating modes as: GSM only, UMTS only, UMTS/GSM (automatic). It would be best to check the box next to the last mode, but if you are absolutely sure of the high quality of the signal, you can set “UMTS only,” that is, exclusively the maximum Internet connection speed.

If the “GSM only” mode is activated, the Internet speed will be very slow, but the cellular signal level will be maximum.

I hope this instruction helped you in solving the problem, and you were able to enable 3G on your smartphone yourself.

In the modern world of gadgets, tablets and smartphones with large screens have long replaced laptops from the niche of mobile devices. And like any mobile device, they need the Internet to work effectively.

Connection types can be divided into the following:

Mobile Internet. To gain access to the network, an operator SIM card that supports data transfer is used.

Connection via radio channel using wi-fi technology. When using this connection method, the mobile device uses a third-party network connection, establishing a connection with a device that has access to the Internet.

WiFi connection

In the settings of a tablet or phone it is done the same way.

Go to the "Settings" menu.

In the menu that opens, select the “wi-fi” item by sliding the settings button in the menu from the “0” (off) position to the “I” (on) position, or check the box next to the corresponding item.

When you select the “wi-fi” menu item, a list of wireless networks opens. It will list all detected networks with an image of the signal strength and connection method.

The list of available networks includes closed ones (there is a sketchy lock icon next to them) and open networks. To connect to the first, a password is required. In a public place (restaurant, hotel, cafe), the password can be obtained from the establishment’s employees.

When the wireless network is selected, click on the network icon and enter the received password (if required).

When connecting to many networks, some providers require a phone number to complete the connection. To enter the password and complete the connection, you must open any browser and type the required data in the window that appears.

You can see the result in the notification area in the upper right corner. There, next to the clock and information about the mobile network signal level, a schematic diagram of the connection with an animation of activity is displayed.

Connection via mobile internet

Be sure to make sure that the selected SIM card has data service enabled. Information about this is available from your mobile operator.

To do this, go to the “Settings” menu - “Data transfer” (depending on the operating system of the tablet or phone, it may be called “Wireless networks”, “Mobile Internet”).

In the menu, select “mobile traffic” (“data transfer”).

On the screen, switch the setting slider from the “inactive” position to the “active” position or check the box next to the selected item.

When connected, a schematic sign for enabling data transfer with an animation of the activity will appear in the notification area next to the clock and mobile network signal level.

A phone or tablet connected to the network can easily replace a desktop computer or laptop; besides, computer repair, according to the website 96-05-14.ru, costs almost the same amount as repairing a mobile gadget. At the same time, mobile devices have an undeniable advantage - light weight and a higher degree of autonomy. Just as when working on desktop computers, you should remember about protection against viruses, so after connecting you should definitely install a program to protect your phone or tablet from spyware and viruses.

Therefore, I decided to write this guide that will help everyone who wants to use the Internet on their TV. I would like to immediately draw your attention to the fact that some TVs, although there is an Ethernet port on the panel, cannot connect it to the World Wide Web. for example for TV firmware...

I recommend connecting devices such as a TV or system unit, since a LAN cable, unlike a Wi-Fi wireless network, is less susceptible to external factors and has a higher data transfer speed. Of course, 802.11ad is not subject to negative external influences, but not all devices can work with these standards. By the way, if you don’t want cables getting tangled under your feet, then you can.

So, you can connect an LG TV to the Internet via a LAN cable in the following cases:

  • if the TV you are using does not have a Wi-Fi function by design, there is no external auxiliary device (adapter), and there is no desire to use a wireless connection to connect to the Internet;
  • when there is also no network device (modem, router with Wi-Fi function), it is not possible to connect the TV to the Internet without using a cable.

We will consider two configuration options:

  1. Connecting to the Internet using a router;
  2. Connection via LAN connector (directly) using the provider's network cable.

If your TV does not have a PPPoE connection or L2TP (not provided by the design), then it is not yet possible to connect it directly to the provider’s network. Also in the case when IPoE connection technology is used (static or dynamic IP), connecting is also not easy. As a rule, such providers tie the Internet to the MAC address of the connected device (computer or TV), but exceptions do occur.

Connecting an LG TV to the Internet via a router.

A similar problem can be solved quite easily using a router. This network device allows you to create a home local network and provide the Internet to all clients (computer, tablet, smartphone, TV) connected to it. To open the TV to the Internet, you do not need to make any special settings on the router; to do this, it will be enough to activate the DHCP server function in the router settings and connect the TV in automatic mode (set by default). When using Wi-Fi, the wireless network must be configured accordingly.

You can connect Smart TV to the router (we use the LAN port) using a network cable (called a patch cord), which can come with the TV or router. As a rule, they are supplied short; a longer one (as needed) can be ordered at any specialized salon, store or. It is better to connect when the TV is on. You should get something similar to what you see in the pictures.

Connect one end of the cable to the router into a free LAN connector.

The other end of the same cable is connected to the Ethernet port of the TV.

In general, it should look like this: from the provider to the router, from the network device to the TV.

If everything was done correctly, a window should immediately open on the TV screen (closes quickly) with a message about the establishment of the required connection. All Smart TV functions should work and your TV is connected to the Internet.

To make sure that everything is connected, go to the TV settings by pressing the Settings button (if the remote control is Magic Remote, then press the INPUT button and click on the gear sign). Now select “Network” -> “Wired Ethernet Connection” from the menu. As you can see, the connection to the Internet has been established.

Directly connect your LG TV to the Internet via a LAN cable.

This connection option does not require any auxiliary devices, but there are some nuances. Currently, providers use several connection methods (technologies):
IP Dynamic and Static;
L2TP and PPPoE.
Depending on the type of connection you use, you will need to make certain settings on your TV in order for it to have a network. You can find out which connection method is used in your case in the concluded agreement with the provider or by contacting technical support.

Dynamic IP. In this case, it is very easy to connect the Internet to an LG TV without a router if the provider uses dynamic IP technology. It is enough to insert the Internet provider cable included in the apartment (house) into the network connector of the TV (must be in automatic mode) and a connection to the Internet will be established.

There is no need to make any additional settings. It is important that the network parameters in Smart TV are set to “Automatic”.

Static IP. If you use Static IP connection technology, you need to look at the preset network parameters in the agreement concluded with the service provider and use them when setting up the Internet on the TV. Insert the LAN cable coming from your provider into the Ethernet port of the TV and go to network settings.

To do this, press the Settings button (on the Magic Remote, press INPUT and click on the gear). Go to “Network” -> “Wired Ethernet Connection” and uncheck the “Automatic” option. Thus we switch to manual control.

Now enter the IP address, mask, gateway and DNS specified by the provider in the fields and click the “Connect” button. It will all look something like this:

  • IP address: 192.168.0.102
  • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Gateway: 192.168.0.1
  • DNS: 192.168.0.1

After this, Smart TV will have access to the World Wide Web.

Binding by MAC address. If your Internet provider uses MAC address binding, and a computer is connected via its LAN cable (connected to the Internet), then setting up the Internet on the TV will be somewhat more difficult. You will need to go to the TV settings (Support, product/service information) and look at its MAC address. Then contact your service provider and tell him the new MAC so that he can change the connection from the computer to the TV.

Sometimes the provider uses PPPoE, L2TP technology, and in this case it will most likely not be possible to connect the Internet to the TV via a network cable. Only some TV models can understand PPPoE connection. You need to look at the characteristics of Smart TV or get information about network capabilities from the manufacturer. In my opinion, in this case it is better to connect the TV to the Internet using a router. The advantage is obvious.

In my opinion, a direct connection (without a router) is the most inconvenient... To access the global network, for example, from a tablet, smartphone or laptop, you will have to distribute Wi-Fi from the TV, and you can completely forget about connecting devices via LAN. As you understand, in this sense and not only Smart TV is much inferior to a network device. Bye!
