Settings

The first thing we encounter is a proposal to create a demonstration category structure. This action only works for the hand, so we won’t be stubborn. So, we have six windows: income, expenses, cash accounts, cash distribution, transaction history and statistics. We will look at them in more detail during testing, but for now let’s try to find the settings.

There are invisible “three dots” in the lower right corner. Here we are asked to select a currency, open a database, ask for help and set up a financial manager. It is worth noting that there are a great variety of currencies in the program, but in the free version you can only choose two, otherwise you pay 156.93 rubles. It's a shame, a shame, but oh well. But you can download the current exchange rate almost instantly. As for the database, it can either be saved or restored from a backup, or it can be completely cleared.

The settings themselves are very ascetic. Here we check the boxes if we want to show invoice amounts, hide the account selection if there is only one account, and also reveal only one group in the account tree. In short, we set up the interface. Below the button is more interesting - you can assign a password to the program, and also select a bank that will inform you about the exchange rate. The choice is small, but the informants are authoritative: the Central Bank of Russia and the ECB. The settings are completed by selecting the first day of the month (from 1 to 15). This option is useful for linking the reporting month to payday, for example.

In general, it immediately becomes clear that we have a mercantile solution for every day without much hassle. Okay, let's see if there are any problems with RAM consumption and resolutions.

Testing

This “comrade” eats a measly amount - only 31.8 MB with an insignificant processor load of 0.1%. And the distribution itself weighs an insignificant 167 KB, which turns into 396 KB during installation. But the paid version weighs suspiciously little - only 8.2 KB. What is this, a small addition to the basic version? Although you shouldn’t bother, since weight in this case is not critical.

We were also pleased with the permits required by the program. We were pleased, first of all, with the fact that there were a minimum of them. Working with a USB drive and the Internet, and that’s all. By the way, the application is compatible with all versions of Android, that is, from 1.5 and higher.

Well, let's go through all six options. In our income, the “salary” category has already been carefully created. Here you can set its date and actually set its size in rubles or euros, as you set in the settings. You can also save the default currency and add a note to the category. If you long press on “salary”, you can call up a context menu where we can view statistics, transaction history, move an entry to another group (for example, expenses), delete it or rename it.

With expenses, everything is the same, that is, we create groups and subgroups, enter the date and amount of expenses, etc. Only in the context menu can you create an invoice, that is, add an expense item.

Cash accounts allow you to manage cash, for example, you can record the exchange between currencies (in our case, exchange for euros). For the rest, we look at the transaction history, move cash into groups, delete or rename categories.

The item “Cash distribution” speaks for itself. Here we take our basic funds and... distribute them according to expenses. Essentially, this option allows you to see how much free money is left.

The history of operations shows the history of operations, and statistics allows you to see the statistics only visually, that is, through a linear graph, where the green curve shows all income, the red curve shows all expenses, and the yellow curve shows the difference between them. Accordingly, the vertical is the sum, and the horizontal is the date. That's all.

In general, as we said, we have a rather mediocre financial manager. There were no bugs, crashes or freezes, resource consumption did not change significantly. Interestingly, RAM consumption increased to 32 MB, and the processor completely calmed down. Apparently this is due to the fact that the program would not be disturbed for some time.

conclusions

Finance Assistant is an easy-to-use and lightweight program for calculating expenses on gasoline, jeans and sausage. I'm glad that there is work with the database, but without it, you see, there would be no point in writing the program. In short, this is an application for users who have no pretensions to complex financial transactions.

The program developers have provided a large number of opportunities that will help you plan future expenses in order to wisely save a certain amount for your needs. Often in stores we succumb to impulse purchases, buying less useful and sometimes unnecessary things or products.

With this software, you can control your expenses and reduce them by purchasing only the necessary goods. Proper management of finances will allow you to always have the necessary funds without getting into debts and loans. By refusing to buy unnecessary goods, you can accumulate a sufficient amount of money, with which, for example, you can relax at sea, buy a computer, or open your own business.

Alzex Finance (Personal Finances Free) is a shareware program, since the basic functions of Personal Finances can be downloaded for free, and the full version with all functions is available for a fee.

Possibilities:

  • maintaining high-quality home accounting records;
  • planning future expenses;
  • reducing costs by purchasing only the goods you need;
  • Alzex Finance (Personal Finances Free) can be downloaded for free.

Principle of operation:

The Personal Finance program does not require installation, so it can be stored on a flash card in order to always be able to enter new data or check existing ones. This home accounting program is not demanding on the resources of your PC, so it will work even on weak computers. Personal Finances takes up about 40 MB of disk space, so it will always fit on your flash drive and computer.

Pros:

  • the program works even on low-performance computers;
  • the program does not require installation (Portable);
  • takes up little disk space.

Minuses:

  • not all functions of the program are available in the free version; for more details, see the comparison table of the PRO and FREE versions.

The Alzex Finance program is a powerful tool for controlling your financial resources, allowing you to manage your money wisely. Therefore, we advise you to download Alzex Finance (Personal Finances Free) and spend money only on necessary and useful goods, saving the savings for vacation, housing or your own business.

$ So, Finance PM- personal financial manager $

Let's start with a brief overview and description of all the advantages.

Firstly, you need create multiple wallets. For example, I have cash, card, qiwi, etc. We immediately enter how much is in the wallets.

You can configure a separate currency for each wallet.

Now we need ours expense and income categories. We go to the categories and add the ones we need. It’s very convenient that there are subcategories, that is, Hypermarket, and there we write all the hypermarkets that we visit, etc.

We set up income categories in the same way.

This function is very convenient, but it is better to set a small password (by the way, only numbers!), because... you log into the application several times a day and it’s not convenient when there is a kilometer password. Verified by myself hahaha

Now we begin the process of entering our purchases or profits.

Creating new income

Create a new expense

You can also create a money transfer from one wallet to another. At the same time, if the currency of one wallet is in rubles, for example, and the other is in dollars, then you enter two amounts, and it itself shows at what rate you exchanged your hard-earned money.

The advantage is the template function. With its help you can speed up the filling process. For example, you constantly top up your phone balance with exactly 100 rubles, like me, so you can create a template with this amount. The same thing applies to a monthly fixed amount of something, maybe a loan, or maybe, on the contrary, income of approximately the same amount. It will be more convenient for you if there is a template.

Now let's talk about human memory!

We cannot always remember everything. Here are some apps that can help us: they can store information and write reminders! It really saves me when I need to remember numbers, but I just don’t remember them. You reach into your pocket and take out the desired number from the application.

Function planned operation

You create a planned expense or income, set a reminder, a date and that’s it! The application will remind you of this, and all you have to do is do it and enter it in the desired category.

Another thing related to human memory is

Now we don’t have to strain our memory to figure out who owes us. Just enter the names and amount of debt, as well as the period for which you borrowed, and that’s it!

To track the history of your expenses and income, the application has reports.

In this way, I check which category the most money was spent on this month, for example cosmetics, clothing, groceries (of course they will be more) or something else.

And finally we got to the disadvantages of this application.

The application works great, everything is very good, I like it, but the big minus, I would even say huge - The calculator doesn't work! When the keyboard appears, the calculator is visible, but when you try to add or subtract something, it just doesn’t work, nothing happens!

For me this is a huge minus, because... you have to minimize the application, go into the calculator, open the application again, and so on until you have calculated everything.

Another disadvantage of this application is that no online version ! Or maybe I want to log in from the computer and correct some data, but I can’t! Or simply, maybe I’m tired of this small phone screen and I want to use a computer to make it more convenient. But I can not!

In this case, the following disadvantage suggests itself - why do we need synchronization?! This remains a mystery to me. Of course, I created an account for myself, did the synchronization and do it periodically, but I still don’t understand why!

At first I thought it was so that I could then log into the computer using my username and password and see everything. But there is no online version. Then I thought that a report would be sent to me by email. But nothing ever came!

So the mystery is not solved!

In general, there are more advantages, so I recommend it.

Thank you for your attention, see you soon!

Personal financial manager (Finance PM)

Finance PM is an income and expense manager, this time from a Belarusian developer. Allows you to manage multiple accounts in any currency. The principle of operation of the application is no different from similar ones: the user records outgoing and incoming transactions - income, expenses, transfers. Subsequently, a summary transaction is available, including the current balance, as well as trends: for example, is the balance close to overdraft, etc. Thus, financial transactions are monitored quite clearly.

It should be noted that the Finance PM interface is not very informative; no other detailed information other than the current balance is available through the main screen. There is, however, detailed and flexibly segmented statistics: control by category, reporting period, comparison of income and expenses is possible. Next to the pie chart is the distribution of spending as a percentage.

For greater management convenience, the user can manually create categories of income and expenses. Some transactions can be scheduled (this could be periodic/recurring transactions) or notifications can be set up for them (for example, for timely repayment of a debt).

Another distinctive feature of the application is the creation of operations using templates. Certain settings can be saved in each template, which makes entering operations faster in the future. The template contains the transaction type, wallet, transfer amount and description.

Let's look at other distinctive aspects of the application. Finance PM Manager supports synchronization between multiple devices and provides a web interface (in Russian and English). Full control is available through it - you can record transactions, just like the mobile version of the application. The web interface can be useful if there is no phone nearby or in a situation where it is more convenient to enter data through a browser. Service available at .

Summary. The Finance PM application is suitable for managing transactions and monitoring planned operations. It differs from other similar managers in its accessibility (synchronization + web interface), as well as the ability to create operations from templates. Among the noted shortcomings, the main screen does not fully provide summary statistics on finances.

CoinKeeper is a relatively simple manager with an intuitive interface, and this is one of its main features. Plus, tips and introductory instructions on the basic functions of the manager are available.

The advantages of the interface include the fact that it also plays a significant functional role: for example, you can customize the main screen to suit your needs, drag elements from one category to another, and change the order.

When you first launch CoinKeeper, you are prompted to create a profile and select an expense planning mode. There are two modes: manual or program expense planning.

Income and expenses are managed by selecting the required category. On the top line are sources of income, then on account and expenses, on the bottom line are goals. Here you can set a specific financial goal, the progress towards which will be signaled by the progress bar at the bottom of the screen. The background of the category icons will also change to indicate overspending.

The manager's statistics, again, are not very detailed. This includes a bar at the bottom of the CoinKeeper home page, as well as information in the corresponding “Statistics” section. In the form of a pie chart and percentage, you can view expenses for certain categories, as well as the dynamics of expenses and income.

Difficulties arise when managing transactions with different types of currencies. Although you can select the desired format to use by default in the application settings, it is converted in an unclear way. However, you cannot independently specify the currency type for a separate account.

The data used by CoinKeeper can be stored in the cloud and is synced with other devices. Export is available only in the paid version of the application. In the free version of CoinKeeper (without an active subscription), other restrictions apply: you cannot specify sources of income or select a reporting period.

Summary. In principle, CoinKeeper can be used not only for individual, but also for family expense tracking, as stated in the official description on Google Play. This is facilitated by synchronization, cloud storage and a simple interface. On the other hand, there are problems with currency formats, and in the current version of the application it is not very clear how to track expenses in multiple currencies.

Count is a relatively young application from domestic developers. Its tools offer comprehensive budget planning. The application is free, but has limitations: the user can make up to 50 transactions per month. To remove the limit, you must purchase the Count+ package.

The main screen contains summary information. In most cases, it is enough to avoid having to go to other sections to get acquainted with the statistics for the day. In addition, on the main screen it is convenient to track both general statistics and specific categories. Average daily indicators are available, which allows you to identify patterns in expenses and plan your budget.

On the main page of Count, the user has access to exchange rates and a chart. There are no problems with conversion and online synchronization, as in some applications in the previous part and the current review (where these functions either did not work or offered non-obvious conversion methods).

On the same panel, if you scroll through it, you can view information on budgets and debts. At the bottom of the screen are transactions with accounts. When creating a new transaction, its type is indicated: income, expense or transfer. You can add a photo, geo-tag, hashtags and assign a commission to each entry. For automation, you can set the frequency of payments.

You can add Count widgets to your home screen. There are two types of widgets: respectively, for entering and displaying balance statistics.

In the “Financial Report” section, you can view the history of operations, statistics on income and expenses, separately from each other, with a specified reporting period. There are two display options: graph and chart.

It is possible to import data from other applications: Count itself, CoinKeeper, MoneyWiz and MoneyIQ. Among the online functions, one can note synchronization between devices (via social networks). At the moment, the application is available only for the Android platform, but, according to information on the official website of the developers, a full-fledged web version of the service is planned in the near future.

Summary. Count is an application that is interesting in its functionality. It is distinguished by its informativeness and convenient data entry. You can detail transactions, keep track of debts, view detailed statistics, etc. Ideally, you would expect to see Count with a full link to the web service, as well as an increased limit on transactions.

Worth mentioning

“Expenses” is one of the simplest representatives in its category. By and large, all functions are focused on managing expenses (in fact, what the name of the program suggests), and here you cannot manage accounts and plan a budget.

On the main page, categories of expenses are available, where, accordingly, you can indicate the required amount and enter the amount. It's easy to create your own category or change the existing order. Tags, along with categories, serve for more flexible cost management and subsequent segmentation when analyzing statistics.

In addition to specifying the expense category and amount, the user can select the date, currency, and add a comment. For faster input, you can use autofill data saved during previous input.

As for statistics, expenses can be viewed both for a certain period (day / week / month / year, etc.) and in relation to selected tags or categories. A characteristic feature of “Expenses” is that adjustments can be made to the transaction history - in particular, data can be transferred from one category to another.

Among the additional features, one can note cloud storage of backup copies (Dropbox), and on this we can say that the capabilities of “Expenses” are exhausted.

Expense Manager cannot be called an intuitive application for the reason that there is no Russian localization. However, the tools of this manager are quite simple and familiar in design.

Expense Manager allows you to maintain financial records in different currencies, record income and expenses by category, create recurring payments, and move funds between different accounts. In addition, in Expense Manager you can track incoming and outgoing (throughout the week, month and year), view statistics in the form of graphs and charts.

A separate section of Expense Manager contains additional tools, such as a calculator, currency converter, discounts and allowances, credit cards, etc. This entire collection may be useful at the right time when editing and entering transactions.

Other features of Expense Manager: import and export of reports in CSV format, backup to the cloud (Dropbox, Google Drive are supported) and to a memory card.

The bright and “frivolous” Toshl interface acts as an alternative to more strict options. Other features of the interface include the sound of events and characters that accompany the user’s actions with “tip of the day.” However, at the moment the application interface is far from perfectly localized, and the meaning of some phrases has to be figured out.

Based on the interface features, the manager’s tools are just as simple. When you add an expense, you enter the amount, date, and description. Similarly, income is added in the next tab.

The most interesting feature of the Toshl manager is budget planning. For events such as regular account replenishment, you can set up a repeat. It is enough to indicate the frequency and amount, after which it will be easier for the user to track expenses. If necessary, you can also enable the transfer of budget balances to the next month.

The reporting in the application is very modest and does not live up to more functional contenders, but data export is available in PDF, Excel, Google Docs and CSV formats. Although Toshl works fully offline, you can create an account for automatic online synchronization.

Rise Money has several features that make transaction management more intuitive for the user. Firstly, this is the history of transactions: quick filtering by accounts and intervals is available here. The second point is visual and customizable statistics, which can be displayed in one of the views. In particular, a balance graph is available, which displays the expense curve.

Another interesting feature of Rise Money is the flexible management of expense categories. In addition, you can use nested subcategories.

Zen-Money is not only a Russian-language application, but also focused primarily on the Russian-speaking user segment. In this regard, one of the key functions of Zen Money is support for SMS from banks in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus for recording monetary transactions within the application.

Unlike most other programs, Zen Money allows you to separate personal from general transactions. Thus, this manager will be useful for joint (family) planning of expenses.

Zen Money also provides alternative data input - through an Android widget or web interface. Synchronization with the Zen Money web service is another interesting functionality that complements the mobile application. Other features include:

  • import of transactions from Yandex.Money, Webmoney and Qiwi wallets
  • advanced reporting
  • planning functions, goal setting, etc.

Based on the above, the Zen Money mobile client can be considered as a kind of addition to the online service. However, some of the tools are also available offline: you can add incoming/outgoing transactions and view the transaction history.
