Finally, the system requirements for the game Escape From Tarkov have appeared

As promised by the staff of Battlestate Games, at the very beginning of January 2016, the general system requirements for playing their ambitious project - Escape From Tarkov - became known. (Plus, the opportunity to pre-order has recently become available)

Note that this is a story-based online shooter, positioned by the developers as the most plausible simulator of survival in the conditions of local hostilities (the opponents are private mercenaries, government special services, bandits). For more details about the game, see the videos below.

Well, we’ll move on to the long-awaited system requirements, since the testing phase is promised very soon, and accordingly the first opportunity to see and feel what the game is technically.

So, we note that in order to run the game on minimum settings you will need a completely acceptable “computer”, which most players will have:

  • operating system: Windows 7, 8, 10 (only 64 bit, as is already customary for new games)
  • Proc. : 2-core with a frequency of 2.4 GHz. (Intel Core, AMD Athlon/Phenom)
  • RAM: from 6 GB (although we think it will work with 4, just increase the swap file)
  • Video system: DirectX 9, with a memory capacity of 1 GB. (quite blurry)
  • Hard drive space: minimum 8 GB.

Note that the minimum system requirements for Escape From Tarkov are very affordable, given the tendency of recent major games (Fallout 4, AS: Syndicate, Just Cause, COD: BO 3) to inflate them to the “heaven”, although the stability of the game itself is a big question (mistakes, spills, brakes, etc.).

For medium and high settings you will need at least:

  • operating system: Windows 7, 8, 10 (64 bit only)
  • Proc. : 4-core with 3 GHz. and higher
  • RAM: 8 GB. and more
  • Video card: DirectX 11 support, with 2 GB memory. and higher (they didn’t say which ones in detail, although it’s already clear GeForce 650/660 and Radeon R7/R9)
  • Free space: from 8 GB.

Again, we note that if the game places considerable emphasis on the graphical component, that is, on the beauty of the graphics surrounding objects, models, effects, then it would be a big omission to play on the lowest settings. The latest gaming trends make it clear that now you can get by with a 2-core processor and 6 gigabytes of RAM (fortunately, it is now very cheap), but the video card should become the center and concentration of power.

It is clear that not everyone has the resources to purchase an expensive video card (and this is not necessary, if you are aware of many gaming features, then once the purchased video card lasts for several years). But now, in order to play new games and see at least some beauty, you need to at least get a GeForce GTX 650 (560) with 2 GB. memory, or AMD Radeon 7850 (7770, from the new R7 250/260).

But don’t forget, a video card is not the amount of memory on it (although now, the more of it, the better), the power of a video card depends on its graphics chip, which does all the work. Don’t make the huge mistake many people make; before buying a video card, read reviews about it on the Internet and watch tests; don’t trust the purchase of such an important part to a store consultant.

System requirements are compiled taking into account alpha testing.

The game is constantly being optimized; system requirements may change.

Attention: you need more than 8 Ram, otherwise there will be a 15-20 FPS drop. Have a minimum of 12 Ram.

Survival games can hardly be called a breakthrough genre of games, considering that Steam is overcrowded with this type of game. Escape from Tarkov is in many ways similar to a typical game of this genre, asking you to escape from an infected zone within a certain period of time or fight a hostile PMC or local bandits.

About the game
The events take place in the fictional Norvinsk economic zone, or more precisely in the city of Tarkov. Your hero is a fighter of a private military company, left to his own devices, you have nothing but a pistol and several magazines for it.
The first thing you should immediately understand is that the game does not have an open world like DayZ; in its structure, it is a session game, where players have the right to choose which raid to go to and which location to go to.

Raids last on average forty minutes, which is long enough for players. To have time to explore the map, fight, collect loot and get away.
There are currently two PMCs in the game, BEARS and USEC, the main goal is to find a way out of the city, there is no news from the outside world, contact with the headquarters has long been lost, the city is blocked by UN peacekeepers and the Russian military.

Game plot
Having understood the plot of the game, you should go to the city to explore the local territory. Of course, you will have to linger a little in order to understand the varied number of machine guns, pistols, and various spare parts for them. However, by going to the character menu, you can postpone your trip to the city for at least two hours, all because of a special weapon modification that allows you to disassemble your firearm, down to the smallest screw.

Escape from Tarkov - maps
At the moment, three maps have been implemented: “Customs”, “Forest”, “Factory”. If the third map is a plant that is frightening in its size, then the first two will not take long to study. Each map has its own specific atmosphere, the factory is designed for patient players who do not rush ahead with machine guns, there is customs for them, and in the forest the potential of a sniper rifle is fully revealed.
Shootouts in the game are quite complex, a couple of hits and the character is dead, when players die, they lose all their uninsured equipment, the game is not simple at all. On the downside, we can say that the game is not optimized and constant crashes interfere with normal playthrough. But the game is still in alpha version, so this can be forgiven. Escape from Tarkov is currently a work in progress. But the game has potential.

The specifics of PC gaming are such that before you begin, you must first familiarize yourself with its system requirements and relate it to the existing configuration.

To do this simple action, you do not need to know the exact technical characteristics of each model of processors, video cards, motherboards and other components of any personal computer. A simple comparison of the main lines of components will suffice.

For example, if a game's minimum system requirements include a processor of at least Intel Core i5, then you shouldn't expect it to run on i3. However, it is more difficult to compare processors from different manufacturers, which is why developers often indicate names from two main companies - Intel and AMD (processors), Nvidia and AMD (video cards).

Above are system requirements. It is worth noting that the division into minimum and recommended configurations is done for a reason. It is believed that meeting the minimum requirements is enough to start the game and complete it from beginning to end. However, to achieve the best performance, you usually have to lower the graphics settings.

A hardcore online shooter in which players will have to escape from a Russian town caught in the middle of a conflict between two private military corporations.

Tarkov is a small regional center northwest of St. Petersburg. The authorities tried to make the city the starting point of Russian-European cooperation, but instead it turned out to be the center of a conflict between two private military corporations - American and Russian. At some point, the situation got so out of control that even some operatives from these two companies decided to flee the city.

Escape from Tarkov is organized as a set of raid missions, “leading” the player from the center to the outskirts of the city. Raids take place on huge maps, and the conditions change with each launch. There may be one or more groups of players on the map, which can either enter into conflict or unite. You can go alone. The main opponents will be “wild” - bandits and marauders, who are usually controlled by the computer, but no one is stopping one or more players from taking on this role. Finally, the passage is nonlinear - in each raid there will be a bunch of closed locations, and in some cases you will have to return to maps that have already been completed. By the way, the elaboration of the maps deserves special mention - there are almost no stereotyped places on them. For example, in Escape from Tarkov you can go into any building, the rooms in which will be furnished completely differently.

Escape from Tarkov is different in its own way. The main rule is that when a player dies, he loses all of his inventory. In a group, it can be picked up and returned by comrades, but you can lose things forever - therefore, it is worth planning the task so that you always have funds left to replenish your equipment. As in, here you have to monitor the hero’s needs - if you don’t drink or eat on time, this will at least affect the characteristics.

It is very difficult to fight - and the problem is not only other players, but even ordinary bots. Their artificial intelligence is the real pride of the developers. The bots are very careful, they try to act together, surround the player from different sides, and if he manages to hide, they “target” the positions from where he might appear.

The operation of weapons in Escape from Tarkov is modeled in great detail. Any gun in the arsenal can be equipped with a huge number of laser sights, in the craziest combinations - up to two laser sights, if you suddenly want to. The ballistics of the weapon has been worked out to the smallest detail, plus a bunch of functions useful in combat have been implemented. For example, in addition to standard weapon reloading, there is also a quick one - the hero will spend much less time on it, but at the same time he will throw one of the weapon’s magazines on the floor, and they are quite valuable in the game.

There are simply countless such small hardcore details in the game. For example, the hero does not just take loot from a corpse - first he searches it, removing items one by one. This wastes time during which the character is vulnerable to enemies. Another example - . There are several of them here, they accept different currencies, for which you can buy things of different values, and also remember the player’s actions - and can, for example, be “jealous” if you buy from another merchant.

Detailed impressions of the game can be found here.
