The problem of “hanging” calls is largely due to the fact that signaling in the networks of many countries around the world (including Russian communication networks) does not always correctly transmit data about the completion of a call, for example, from landline phones - the call is considered incomplete until until the caller disconnects the handset, even if the called subscriber has already disconnected, which is why the forced interruption function was introduced. As one of our experts, who wished to remain anonymous, noted, this option of forcibly ending a conversation dates back to the times when “cellular phones cost thousands of dollars and their main buyers were guys in crimson jackets with shaved heads.
