CS GO rank increase system. Ranks in cs go - complete guide. Titles in CS:GO

Titles... I've been looking for a system for assigning points and titles for a long time, but I haven't found anything. Everywhere it’s the same thing: “you have to defeat as many times, shoot as many people as we don’t know, but you will get the title.” It sounds about the same as the guide on how to become a millionaire: “come up with something, sell it, become a millionaire.”

I’m writing this down for myself, but I think it will be useful for the majority of those seeking to obtain their “legitimate” titles.

A working system for promoting rank for 5 people in premade (that is, for 5 in a party), what you need to know and what to do.
First:
You need to gather 5 people with the same rank, you can have different ones, but then those with a lower rank will receive promotions.
Second:
As soon as you receive a new rank, you find yourself at “level zero” (I’ll call it that way for convenience). To get promoted you will need to win 3 games in a row. With each new victory the opponents become stronger, with each loss - weaker. If you received a new rank and lost the game, then you end up at level -1, where the opponents are weaker than at your ranks in general, did you lose again? got to level -2, where the opponents will be even weaker. Lost 3? Sorry, we're demoting you.
It's the same with victories. Won one game? Got to +1 level, one more? +2, but the opponents are already much stronger than you. If you won 3 times in a row, then the lowest ranks in your party of 5 people received an increase.
It’s not difficult to guess that if after promotion you lose and find yourself at level -1, then you need to win 4 in a row to promote.
Third:
All the tales about the number of frags in the game, MVP, number of clicks, etc. just fairy tales. Everything, that's it, is non-negotiable. You can be a ballast with the number of frags -1, but if your party of 5 people dragged you through 3 winning games, you will get a promotion in any case.

Perhaps these are 3 main points, and now a little about the nuances, which, again, few people know.
If you play in a party with one, two, three, four, this scheme does not work. Here the limit of required victories most likely increases. Something like +6 for one, +5 for two or three, +4 for four.
If you are paranoid by a strong player, but at the same time you are in a party of five, then there is a possibility that matchmaking will select solo players of exactly the same rank as your strongest player (you can imagine that even if you are the first Kalash, and the strongest player is your is already an eagle, then there will be 5 solo eagles against you... and it will just be a one-goal game... yours;))

Question. I only play one, and now in order to rise from silver-1 to silver-2 I need to win 6 wins in a row? Is not it too much? And if you lose at least once, then everything is +1.

Answer. Not certainly in that way. No need to win 6 in a row... you need to get to level +6 :). That is, if I won 4 and ended up at level +4, and then lost one, then I’m at +3 and I need to win 3 more to get to promotion
Unfortunately, I can't find a clear pattern of increases when I play alone. Yesterday I got to +5 while playing alone. They didn’t give me an increase again, so I’m leaning more towards +6 for one player

Since the recent outbreak, only one Valve multiplayer game has remained without a rating system - and that is the ancient Left4Dead, which in its current form does not need a rating at all. At the same time, it is surprising that if in Dota2 or Team Fortress2 the rating system is transparent and understandable, then in Counter Strike: Global Offensive ranking has been a field for controversy and various theories for many years now. In this article, we will try to sort out everything about ranks in CS GO and finally decide how points and badges are awarded and lost in the game.

What are CS GO titles?

A big fan of cool theories, Gabe Newell built into CS:GO not just a rating system that gives (or subtracts) 25 points to you for victories and defeats, but used the system of physicist Arpad Elo, already developed at the beginning of the last century. Elo came up with his own system for chess players, calculating the number of points a player scored based on his games with other chess players. In the Elo system, professional beginners were rated from 1000 points, while Grandmasters started from 2700. This whole theory boiled down to the fact that in those games where the rating gap between chess players was 200 points, in 75% of cases the chess player with a higher number of Elo points. If the gap was 400 points, then the chance of victory was estimated at 94%.

A similar system was introduced in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Each player is assessed according to the Elo system, gaining and losing points based on the number of victories, defeats and some other parameters, which we will discuss a little further.

How many titles are there in total?

- Eighteen. That's all list of all cs go ranks from lowest to highest:

  1. Silver I - Silver I;
  2. Silver II - Silver II;
  3. Silver III - Silver III;
  4. Silver IV - Silver IV;
  5. Silver Elite - Silver Elite;
  6. Silver Elite Master - Silver Grand Master;
  7. Gold Nova I - Gold Star - I;
  8. Gold Nova II - Gold Star - II;
  9. Gold Nova III - Gold Star - III;
  10. Gold Nova Master - Gold Star - Master;
  11. Master Guardian I - Master Guardian - I (“Kalash”);
  12. Master Guardian II - Master Guardian - II (“Kalash with wreaths”);
  13. Master Guardian Elite - Master Guardian - Elite (“Two Kalash”);
  14. Distinguished Master Guardian - Honored Master Guardian (“Big Star”);
  15. Legendary Eagle - Legendary Golden Eagle;
  16. Legendary Eagle Master - Legendary Eagle Master - Master (“Golden Eagle with Wreaths”);
  17. Supreme Master First Class - Grand Master of the Highest Rank (“Suprim”);
  18. The Global Elite - World Elite (“Global”).

Why are ranks raised and reduced in CS GO?

Important point: The Elo system is designed in such a way that when selecting a game, 10 people are recruited (5 in each team) with a similar, but far from identical, number of Elo points. Thus, each team has 5 players with different numbers of Elo points. It is important that if a person with a minimum Elo wins the game, then during the distribution he will receive a larger number of points than players with a maximum Elo in the team.

Another feature of Elo calculation is, in fact, statistical indicators. In ranked games, draws happen - and in this case, those players who showed the best ratio of kills/assists/deaths receive a bonus to Elo; players with poor indicators receive a minus to their Elo.

In general, the system is quite simple - for winning the game you get Elo, for losing you lose it. Many players get stuck at certain ranks, which is why the myth has arisen that in order to move to the next rank you need to achieve certain statistical indicators, but this is not true - it’s just that the gap between different ranks is different, and when moving from, say, silver -elite master in gold nova is much larger than when moving from gold nova to gold nova 2.

How to quickly raise your rank in cs go?

Everything is like in life: either you are a genius, or you work long and hard, or you break the rules of the system.

With geniuses everything is clear - look at some professional players who seem to have an innate sense of the rhythm of the game. It’s not difficult for these guys to raise their ratings.

Now about long and hard work. It just so happens that the easiest way to achieve the highest rating is to calibrate to it. The calibration process is the process by which the statistics of your first 10 games in ranked matchmaking are calculated. Recently, even to be able to start a ranked game, it has become necessary for a beginner to play about 20 full games in regular selection. This approach killed two birds with one stone: firstly, the number of “boosters” (people who raised the ranks of other players for money) decreased. Secondly, in the rating selection the number of people who can’t do anything has decreased.

There are a lot of legends about how calibration is calculated. What we can say for sure is that after every game you win in the calibration, you are thrown into selection with stronger players, and if you win this game, you are thrown even higher. Thus, if you win all 10 games, you can get the highest rank in just 10 steps. Such a “swing” system is very convenient and logical for honest players, but cheaters and boosters can still exploit the vulnerabilities of such a calibration system.

But we were talking about long and hard work here. So, it’s obvious that even a quick rise in rating in calibration mode is only the way of those who have already played hundreds of hours in the hardest ranked games and are able to win all 10 games alone. Beginners will have to work hard on themselves and receive points for each victory, losing them due to defeats.

We will not analyze cheating methods of obtaining a rating, because we are strictly against cheats. Let's just say that if you suddenly get stuck somewhere at the highest ranks. But you really want to play in the global elite, then you can simply buy an account with the highest rank.

Bottom line

To summarize this topic, to improve your ranking you need to improve your own game. In addition, you should warm up before entering the ratings with a couple of regular matches, and, an extremely important point, it is advisable to have a well-played team. There are times when you, tearing apart everyone in your path, lose simply because one of the randomly selected players leaves the game or openly “leaks” the match for you. There are also frequent cases in which enraged players on your team simply clog up the chat and make it difficult to concentrate. Alas, this can only be avoided by having a well-established team of 5 people.

What rank is it no longer embarrassing to play with?

With anyone. There is no shame in playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive at all, and the rating system is created not only for those guys who absolutely need to be at the top. Moreover, it is at the middle and low ranks that the most comfortable ones often take place. Both in terms of difficulty and in terms of the team spirit of the game: in my memory there was even one match, after a defeat in which three of the players agreed to go and drink beer. The point here is that the range from Silver III to Gold Nova 2 is usually inhabited by those players who play CS:GO for relaxation and fun. Because of this, they are as relaxed and friendly as possible, while at higher ranks you can receive a serious scolding for every mistake.

To summarize, we see that there is nothing complicated in the CS:GO rank system - it is a slightly more flexible version of the usual MMR with its own characteristics. When playing Counter Strike, you don't necessarily have to strive to reach the top of the rank table. The author of this article feels quite comfortable on Gold Nova 3 and sees no point in going higher.

What is a "rank"?

Ranking system, the same ranking system was introduced into Counter Strike: Global Offensive on October 30, 2012, along with the 5x5 competitive mode. There are a total of 15 titles in the game, figuratively divided into three skill groups: low skill level, medium and high. A player’s rank is determined after he reaches profile level 3 (not Steam, but in-game) and completes ten calibration matches. The system does not take into account statistics in def matches, public matches and other modes, so in the first calibration match you will be thrown with other players without a rank. Some of them will probably play much worse than you, and some will play better, but the game by default considers everyone new. After each calibration, based on the kill/death ratio and depending on victory/defeat, the system will select stronger or weaker opponents and comrades, and somewhere in the 7-8th match it will completely lift the veil of secrecy over the potential rank, showing in the final table their rank.

How does the rank demotion/promotion system work?

Valve does not disclose on principle algorithm, responsible for promoting and demoting to make life difficult for boosters and smurfs, but some aspects can be easily highlighted by spending a long time shooting opponents in competitive mode. The concept itself is extremely simple: if you win often, you will increase your rank, if you lose often, you will be demoted. The number of rounds won in a match plays an important role. For example, for a match that ends with a score of 16:0, the players of the winning team will approach promotion much closer than in the case of the enemy capitulating in the first rounds. The same mechanics work in reverse. If you are voted out of a match, or if you leave the match for one reason or another, this is considered a loss. By the way, if at the end of the match you notice that the rank of most of your comrades and opponents is higher or lower than yours - rejoice or mourn, promotion and defeat are close, respectively.

Low skill level

Players who are accustomed to seeing shooters as mindless shooters or who are not at all familiar with the genre are almost always assigned Silver (Silver) after calibration. Advanced players rarely miss the opportunity to make fun of representatives of this caste, but there is no need to be ashamed of this title - after all, you have to start somewhere? And you need to start with mastering weapons and studying maps. The spread of bullets when shooting is unique for each barrel, so take the time and try out every boom stick available in the game in def matches, public matches, or a match with bots. Also in the official workshop, training cards for every taste are waiting for you, maximizing and speeding up the learning process. At this point, try to concentrate on the easy to learn de_dust 2 and submachine guns, especially the true beginner's weapon, the P90.

Average skill level

Once you reach the gold stars (Nova), you will move to a commune of mid-level players. Here you will have to work hard, put the SMG aside and pay attention to the AK-47/M4A1 assault rifles. They are more difficult to handle due to the spray, but they are stronger, penetrate armor and helmets better, and are useful for piercing thin walls and surfaces. However, you shouldn’t limit yourself to classic rifles; vary them with shotguns, which cause colossal damage and, with proper handling skills, kill the enemy with one hit at point-blank range; sniper rifles, which allow you to shoot enemies at a great distance without putting your own health scale at risk (keep in mind that enemies are not asleep and also actively use Scout and AWP). Oh yes, be sure to practice throwing grenades, in the same workshop there are training cards for learning how to throw on all popular maps of the competitive mode.

High skill level

Now you are already Master Guardian Elite... By this moment you will know exactly what to do in a given situation, how to properly control the spread of bullets, where to aim, where to go and where an insidious enemy may be waiting... and you will also understand that without a team and trusted comrades, further advancement along the “career ladder” is closed. Unfortunately, due to the imperfection of the system, high ranks are filled with cheaters, boosters and smurfs, hindering the achievement of the cherished goal - the World Elite. Over time, they will receive a well-deserved ban or lose interest in the game, but by the time this happens, you will already have time to burn out significantly and throw CS:GO into the farthest corner. In addition, after cheaters and boosters come players who have improved due to their efforts and who end up on your team as ballast. If none of your friends want or can play with you, look for suitable candidates in the community or among good players you have met along the way.

How NOT to Promote Your Rank

Finally, I would like to talk about how you should never play in hopes of increasing your rank. Everything is simple here: do not turn on the “just came in for fun” mode and do not use cheat programs. In the first case, you will ruin the statistics not only for yourself, but also for four other players on the team. In the second, you will receive a ban and automatically lose your rank and the opportunity to take part in competitive matches. By the way, sometimes fate throws you into the same lobby with a person who, after some time, gets blocked by the VAC system or a user “patrol”. Alas, you will also be punished for dishonest play, dropping in rank.

For the same reason, it is highly not recommended to use the services of so-called “boosters” - experienced players who, for a certain fee, play with you, hand out headshots left and right, and at the same time help you increase your rank in CS:GO. The catch is that boosters for such purposes create a smurf (second account) and use cheats without fear of getting blocked on the main account. And if not, then... Well, look. Let's say you play at the Kalash level, but thanks to a booster you get to the Golden Eagles or higher. Now imagine what opponents who are much stronger than you will do to you. One way or another, you won’t be able to stay at an elevated rank for long, so save your money and nerves.

I hope you found this guide useful, dear readers. GG WP!

Despite the attention paid to ranks, there is little information about how this system works.
Rank in CS:GO is a badge of honor. Many players have difficulty leveling up in the matchmaking system. Some are trying to escape from the “silver hell”, while others are trying to reach the heights of the Global Elite.
I have collected all the information to help you understand the ranks and the factors influencing them.

How ranks work in CS:GO.

When you begin your matchmaking journey, you will first need to win ten matches, no more than two per day. They allow the ranking system to determine your level. An unrated player will not be able to join matchmaking with holders of ranks higher than Master Guardian 1, unless he makes an agreement with four friends in advance.

Once you complete these ten matches, depending on your performance, you will be assigned to one of 18 Skill Groups. After this, you can play as much as you want, but only with players whose ranks are within the range of +5/-5 from yours (again, unless you assemble a team of five people).
Depending on your successes and failures, your rank may change after matches. The mechanics of this process are still unknown, but the best way to improve your rank is to win.
If you don't play for a month, your skill group will disappear and you'll need to win or draw the match to get it back. Until you return it, you will not be able to play with holders of ranks higher than Master Guardian 1.

To summarize, the following factors affect your rating.
1. Available number of points in the ELO system.
2. Number of rounds won/lost (the more rounds you win and the fewer you lose, the faster you will rise in rank).
3. Receiving the SCI award.

The more games you have played, the more difficult it will be to change your rank.
Due to the number of ratings in Glicko-2, the longer you play at a certain level, the more confident the system will be that it has correctly determined your rank. With a low number, significant rank changes are not possible. If you've followed any streamer or YouTuber's attempts to advance from Silver 1 to Global, you've likely noticed that progression takes a very long time in the Silver stages. This happens because the player lowers his rank by deliberately losing several matches. The game becomes confident that it has correctly determined his rating, and begins to react very reluctantly to his subsequent victories. Of course, this does not mean that raising the rank is impossible. If you work long and hard and defeat players above your level, the number of ratings will increase again and the rise will accelerate.

Rank promotions and how it works!

Hello guys! I A1rMike and today, I will tell you about how the system of titles and ranks works in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This article will be of interest to those who are just starting to play CS:GO, as well as seasoned veterans.

Let's start from the very beginning:

Firstly, in order to get our first rank, we will need to reach rank 3.
I advise you to download it in Deathmatch because... it gives the most experience in minita.

1.Competitive mode gives 30 experience per round won.
2.DeathMatch score (number of points) divided by 5.
3.Casual (Public) score multiplied by 4.
4. Arms Race (ArmsRace) score multiplied by 1

Simple math. Competitive is not yet available to us, since we have the 1st rank, and the 3rd is required.
In DeatchMatch you will make a decent number of frags (kills). This means that the increase in experience for the game will be greater than for other modes, so we will get to rank 3, playing exclusively on DeathMatch, but please note, you need to play official matches .
So we have reached the 3rd rank. And then, we will improve our rank mainly in Competitive games, because... there is the biggest increase, if you don’t play DeathMatch 24/7.
Now, we need to go through the calibration of our rank, we need to win, mind you, win 10 competitive games to obtain a Private Rank in CS:GO.

You are allowed to win only 2 games per day. This is done so that the system has time to process your indicators well and award your title after 10 victories.
If you lose, it's okay, you can play competitively until you win 2 games.
After winning 2 games, you will be blocked from competitive games for 21 hours.
In general, calibration takes place in 5 days, if you don’t skip it.
After 10 wins, you will receive a private rank and can play as many competitive games per day as you want (if you don't get banned, more on that elsewhere).

The picture shows all 18 private ranks. From left to right / top to bottom.
At the time of writing, I am approaching rank 17 (Supreme).
During the calibration of the first account, I received a Kalash.
When calibrating the second "Kalash with Wreaths".
Some managed to get Berkut and even LEM when calibrating on the new rank system, but that’s a completely different story.

Usually people get from Silver 2 to Gold Nova 4. So don't be upset if you get a rank lower than Kalash. What, let's move on to a description of how promotion/demotion works and how the system calculates utility per game.

How to increase your rank and not get demoted in CS:GO.

Many will say that in order to rank you only need to kill the most and win, this is not entirely true!
WITH Silver I to Gold Nova I, to advance you need to have 40+ points per game and win 2-3 games in a row.
From Gold Nova II to MGE (Two Kalash) you also need 40+ points, but already 3-4 victories in a row.
Starting from DMG (Big Star) to LEM (Golden Eagle with Wreaths) 40+ points, from 4 to 5 victories in a row.

From LEM to Global Elite it’s a different story, you need to have 50+ points and win from 5 to 7 in a row, but other odds, which we are moving on to now, also greatly influence.

WITH The system takes into account not only the Kill + Assist / Death ratio (Kill + Assist divided by Death), but oh and things like:

1.Accuracy V percent. The number of shots divided by the number of hits.
2. Kills to the Head of all your kills as a percentage (for 1 game).
3. For Plent (mining) bombs and for itDefuse (clearance), but for planting they give 2 times less increase than for defusing.

D This system only works if you play alone in competitive mode. I will describe the party (lobby with friends) below.

How can we not go down?

If the game is doomed to failure (although I still advise you to “sweat” until the end), they cannot be avoided.
G It’s important to have 40+ points and a good KA/D, but you shouldn’t forget about additional odds.Those. even if everything is bad, someone left the game, and the rest are in afk, still try to score 40+ points and be inKDA(Kill+Assist/Death) 1 to 1 or in plus.
Regarding playing in a party (In the lobby with friends, acquaintances, sweaty guys).

ABOUT I really don’t recommend playing with friends if you have a wide range of ranks (or ability to play). For example, you are the Global Elite, and your friends are from Nova 2 to Big Stars. UYou get a very strong scatter. They can throw guys against you who will also play 4-5 and they may all have the same rank, but average to yours.
Those. Global + Nova 2 + Nova 4 + MG2 + DMG, five Golden Eagles can freely come across you.

Think about it, 5 Golden Eagles will crush Global one way or another, and the rest in your party simply will not be able to defeat the Golden Eagles.

Balance? Don't think.

Dand Global"a will be taken away from you very quickly, maybe even for one such defeat, because the system thinks that you lost to very weak opponents and it doesn’t matter to it that you played against the middle rank of your lobby of 5 people.

A Here, 5 guys of equal skill (skill) are very welcome, the game for you with such teammates will move to a new level of cooperation and interactivity, which is certainly great.

IN party (lobby with friends) promotion works differently, it often happens that you need one and a half times as many victories to promote.

One way or another, you have to calculate a lot in your head, all the pros and cons, and in fact, you often have to guess when it will increase or decrease. But with such a scheme it is much easier than just predicting.

N and that’s all, thank you all for reading and happy in the vastness of CS:GO matchmaking. Raise your ranks, be cultured and friendly. Good luck.
