Floorstanding Speakers Review: Standing Your Ground. Reviews of floor-standing acoustics Elac announced a series of active acoustics Navis

Floorstanding Speakers Review: Standing Your Ground. Reviews of floor-standing acoustics Elac announced a series of active acoustics Navis

The three-way floor-standing speakers Confidence 30 received a whole set of proprietary Dynaudio technologies and elements. The creators tried to pay tribute to the Confidence models of the previous generation, but at the same time raise the series to a new level.

Klipsch has released the RP-8060FA floorstanding speakers with an additional built-in two-way Dolby Atmos section

Klipsch speakers are certified by Dolby Laboratories to fully comply with Atmos format requirements. The Klipsch RP-8060FA model, according to the brand, “is excellent at reproducing both music and multi-channel movie soundtracks, and is recommended for use in high-end home theaters.”

Review. Arslab STARK. Firm step

“You need more gold” - this is what the built-in advisor says as soon as you are about to buy something sensible. But even in more prosperous times, I didn’t want to overpay for high-quality sound. As it turned out, it is not necessary, and this is confirmed by the new Stark acoustic systems from the ArsLab family.

Review of Arslab Stark speakers. Decent game on a foreign field

Look at the photo of Arslab Stark, what do these speakers remind you of? They seemed to us very similar to the speakers of the British company Harbeth, which to this day has not escaped the charm of the BBC monitor acoustics style. Spendor, another well-known speaker manufacturer, also continues this tradition, although the company still has more modern-looking models in its range. For all their old-fashionedness, the speakers from these manufacturers are not inferior to the current ones in a number of parameters, and even give many a head start with their special grace and soulfulness of sound.

Dynaudio Evoke 50 floorstanding test: appeal to reason

Dynaudio Evoke loudspeakers are located at the bottom of the Classic catalog division. Above are Contour, below - EMIT. From English Evoke is translated as “to call, to awaken.” Obviously, the Danes believe that their products should evoke emotions, admiration, etc. “To evoke or not to evoke,” one might ask, paraphrasing Shakespeare. The answer to the question will be provided by the top model of the series, Evoke 50.

Review of Bowers & Wilkins 603 speakers. What's in your name?

A brand is of great importance in the modern world. For example, a considerable number of people would prefer to significantly overpay, but purchase a piece of clothing with the coveted label somewhere on the pocket or sleeve. And not least because it will increase their status in certain circles. The same is true when buying a car, but in this case the brand often guarantees something more significant than the attitude of others towards itself - although not without it.

New Sonata performed by PENAUDIO

Three-way Sonata Signature acoustics are expected in Russia. The bass reflex “towers” are mounted on a podium with spikes; the bodies are made of multi-layer Finnish birch plywood and MDF. Tweeter – SEAS Crescendo with a 29 mm fabric dome and a reinforced Hexadim neodymium magnet system.

Arslab Stark Acoustics Test: These Speakers Simply Do Their Job Well

The Arslab Stark speaker system is a fresh new product on the Hi-Fi market; the model appeared in the company’s catalog a little more than three months ago. Naturally, there was a desire to take a closer look and listen to the speakers of the brand, which is gaining popularity year after year, thanks to its high design and sound quality, as well as the extremely competitive cost of its products.

Bowers & Wilkins 603 acoustics test: great sound in a budget class

It just so happens that the level of production of any brand is determined by the parameters of its flagship product. Although, it may be more logical to analyze entry-level products and see what a developer can do within the tight confines of a modest budget.

Polk Audio S60 acoustics test: there should be a lot of sound

It's hard to shake off bias when it comes to judging big American speakers. In the long-standing debate about the nature of the sound of hi-fi from different countries, stereotypes about the American style were born and survived. In the sense that in the USA they prefer powerful bass and have fairly free control over the reproduction of the rest of the range. Is it so?

Audiomania receives the title of best Monitor Audio dealer, and Sylvan Quanon presents the new Gold 5G series in the showroom on Barabanny

On March 18, in the Audiomania showroom on Elektrozavodskaya, representatives of Barnsly (the Russian distributor of Monitor Audio) and Sylvan Quanon (manufacturer’s representative) held a presentation of the new line of Monitor Audio Gold 5G speaker systems. The award ceremony for the best dealer in Russia for 2018 also took place there; as expected, it was Audiomania.

Test of floor-standing acoustics Polk Audio T50: honest bribery

The modern line of Polk Audio acoustics is extremely laconic, and if we are talking about choosing something released after the legendary RTiA series, then there are two series on the scales: the older S and the younger T. The older model of the T series is a medium-sized floorstanding speaker with a modest price tag and positioned by the manufacturer as a universal solution suitable for both music and cinema.

Elac announced a series of active acoustics Navis

Elac presented its new range of Navis speakers at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show. These are active floor and shelf speakers, which, according to the company, power “real high-end amplifiers” - branded BASH operate in class AB and develop a total power of 300 W. 160 W are allocated to the low-frequency section, 100 W to the middle section, and 40 W to the high-frequency speaker.

Test of floor-standing acoustics Sonus Faber Sonetto V: pass to the VIP zone

In all press releases and presentations dedicated to the release of the Sonetto line, you can find the phrase “Sonus Faber becomes more accessible.” A couple of clarifications are required here. After all, the company has cheaper model ranges. But Sonetto uses almost all the technologies of the older series, and they are manufactured entirely in Italy. So we should rather talk about Sonetto as the entry-level Sonus Faber of the High End level. Is it possible to build acoustics of this class taking into account the price? And if compromises had to be made, how did they affect the sound?

Dynaudio Evoke speaker series

The Danish company Dynaudio presented a completely new line of Evoke acoustics in the mid-range category. It was developed from scratch, but at the same time technologies from older series were introduced. The line includes two models of floorstanding speakers, two shelf speakers and central channel acoustics.

Three Vela colors: ELAC speakers of the new series are already available to domestic buyers

Luxurious ELAC loudspeaker systems from the new Vela line are in great demand in Europe and around the world. And now in the showrooms of Russian dealers of this legendary German brand the full ELAC Vela model range is presented in all three finishing options: black lacquer, white lacquer or lacquered walnut veneer.

Bowers & Wilkins 702 S2 acoustics test: how to reveal the music

The new series of Bowers & Wilkins acoustics with the index 700 has a more than clear positioning in the line. Do you want the 800 series, but you have a little more money for the 600s? The choice is obvious. Adding to the intrigue is the fact that the older model of the 700 series has many common features with the flagship 800, as a result of which it looks especially seductive.

DALI Oberon 5 floor-standing speaker test: the fog has cleared

Having said goodbye to the Zensor series, which was produced for seven years, DALI announced a replacement for it. This is the Oberon line. If the new speakers used some solutions from their predecessors, then, most likely, the company would not change the name of the family by adding some kind of index to it - as has happened more than once, for example, with Ikon. But since in this case the acoustics were developed from scratch, a new name was given. Oberon has a place for most of the company's latest technologies, so it is not surprising that they cost a little more than Zensor. Let's see if the increase in sound quality corresponds to this difference.

Test of DALI Oberon 7 acoustic systems: bright energy

In any speaker family, the most active curiosity is caused by the older model, because it is by this model that the strengths and weaknesses of the line as a whole are judged. Well, if you consider that DALI does not change its catalog for trifles, it becomes clear why I was looking forward to testing the Oberon 7 flagship towers with particular interest.

Tannoy Legacy Arden acoustics test: unusual impressions

The Tannoy Legacy line is small - only three models. Low-end speakers and mid-range ones, and finally it came to testing top-end acoustics. I'll be honest, after getting to know the Cheviot in detail during the test and more superficial show listening, I didn't expect anything other than the basic conclusion of "well, it's a Tannoy." However, Tannoy Legacy Arden turned out to be not quite what I expected.

JBL Stage Acoustic Series Test: Concert Scale

One of the noticeable trends in the world of Hi-Fi is the desire of manufacturers to make inexpensive acoustics beautiful, sounding and attractive in all respects. If previously, looking at inexpensive speakers, you had to forgive the boring design, simple finishing and rough assembly, flattering yourself with the hope that the sound would cover the shortcomings, now you have to suffer less and less from these kinds of compromises. And in this trend, sometimes there are leaders who, with an extremely low budget, manage to make really cool-sounding speakers. We will study this phenomenon from JBL now, and in two forms at once: stereo and home theater.

Speaker systems DALI Epicon 6. Review

Audiophiles are accustomed to judging the coolness of audio brands by top-level components, which, in general, is logical - it is in such equipment that its creators invest maximum resources, design creativity and proprietary know-how. But all such masterpieces are sometimes so expensive that only a few can appreciate them. In the case of DALI acoustics from the flagship Epicon range, everything looks a little different.

Tannoy Cheviot acoustics test with Naim Nait XS 2 amplifier and Naim ND5 XS network player: rethinking the past

When selecting a system, the combination of acoustics and amplifier makes the maximum contribution to its sound. Finding this combination is usually done by trial and error. Therefore, it is better to record all successful or at least interesting options found. This time the case study consists of Naim components and Tannoy speakers.

A gift from the heart. Review of floor-standing acoustics Arslab Anniversary 10

Many hi-fi companies celebrate their anniversaries by releasing special lines of branded products. As a rule, these are numbered limited editions of particularly successful and popular components in a custom and/or luxurious finish. And in this case, their price is a gift - in their favor.

Alba Signature – something special

The acoustics of the Penaudio brand belong to the author's category. The main developer of the speakers to this day remains the founder of the company, Sami Penttila, despite the fact that their production has been moved to Riga, to the plant where Arslab brand speakers are manufactured. Penaudio products are also distinguished by an “ecological” approach - the finishing emphasizes natural wooden elements; in particular, this is a popular branded coating of cases with “stacked” plywood.

Penaudio Alba Signature acoustics test: white sound

The first version of the Penaudio Alba acoustics was born more than ten years ago and even then it was noticeably different from the rest of the lineup. The updated Alba Signature, released recently, differs from all other models of the manufacturer even more.

Review of the 5.1 acoustics set B&W 700 S2 Series

The B&W 700 S2 series of speakers represents the latest update to the company's mid-priced speakers. It implements many technical solutions first developed for the 800 series, but now presented in more affordable models. These acoustics look similar to the CM series speakers, but have a number of design differences.

Stairway to Heaven. Comparative test of floor-standing speakers for 90 - 110 thousand rubles.

We continue our research into the most popular sector of acoustic systems, which can be conditionally limited to a price level of 150 thousand rubles. Last time there were quite serious bookshelf speakers from Quad, Wharfedale and Tannoy. And today, having slightly increased the budget, let’s look at floor-standing models in this price segment.

Test of floor-standing acoustics Monitor Audio Monitor 200: sound matches appearance

Floor standing units priced up to 50,000 rubles are a category that is tempting for the buyer and a serious test for the developer. Many of the models offered in this niche market are a collection of compromises and, at best, have genre preferences, and at worst, play inaccurately. The term “monitor” when applied to audio is associated with studio equipment, the main requirement for which is high reliability. When reading the company name and model Monitor Audio Monitor 200, you will have to say this word twice. Such a name may seem ambitious, but the company has repeatedly proven its ability to create affordable and good-sounding acoustics. What happened this time?

Review of the Quad Vena integrated amplifier and Wharfedale Diamond 11.3 acoustics

Finding an inexpensive but good-sounding combination of an amplifier and speaker systems is not so easy, and achieving harmony of style is almost impossible. But we managed to do it: the components from different manufacturers not only fused together perfectly, but also matched each other in design. And the price turned out to be quite humane even by today's standards.

Floor-standing speakers Quad Z4

Quad ESL dipole electrostats are still the stuff of legends. But look what the British offered in a line that is just one step lower. These are the impressive “towers” from the Z series, completely different from their aristocratic relatives, who are now “training” in full force on the eve of our auditions.

Arslab Anniversary 10 floor acoustics test: summing up the results or a new stage of development?

Many companies, when releasing anniversary products, do this: taking one of the existing models as a basis, modifying it a little, adding “Anniversary” to the name, and a dozen or so percent to the price tag, and announcing the number of limited edition copies. Arslab took a different path. Anniversary 10 is not included in any of the existing lines, is noticeably more expensive than other floorstanding products from the company, and was developed completely from scratch. Exactly 100 pairs of these speakers will be produced, so their price includes both a certain collectability and the company’s desire to celebrate its tenth anniversary by demonstrating its accumulated experience.

Tannoy Kensington GR speaker system test

Speaker systems from the elite Prestige series look like part of an expensive interior from the middle of the last century. But the main thing about them, of course, is the unique Dual Concentric coaxial driver with the characteristics of a point emitter. Over the 70 years of its existence, this design has been improved several times, and now we are preparing to listen to its most advanced version to date - Gold Reference.

Tannoy Turnberry GR speaker system test

We know that many people are looking at the acoustics of the Prestige Gold Reference series. There's a special charm to these old fashioned Tannoy systems. Some people like the real walnut finish with exquisite carvings on the edges. And some are tempted by the unique sound. It remains to be seen how well this all compares with the price. You know, now is not the time to overpay...

DALI Opticon 6 floor acoustics test: for relaxation, not for work

The DALI Opticon series replaces the successful Ikon, which served two terms in the mid-price segment and won many awards. The line includes seven models from which you can assemble a set for multi-channel audio. But in this test we will talk about stereo. Opticon 6 are nice and fairly compact floorstanding units that will fit into most standard rooms. The company has repeatedly proven its ability to create excellent, and most importantly, music products with affordable prices. What happened this time?

Spring new products from Arcam and Monitor Audio

On March 22, in the cozy Audiomania salon on Michurinsky, a presentation of the Barnsly company was held, during which the new products of its leading British partners – Monitor Audio and Arcam were shown. For the first time in Russia, Monitor Audio presented the Studio series speaker systems, as well as the Monitor 3G line of budget speakers. As for Arcam, the sales manager for Europe, Alan Davidson, came to Moscow specifically for this presentation. He brought with him “live” samples of equipment from the new HDA (High Definition Audio) series, which was announced at CES in January 2018.

Report from Audiomania: “Continuation of inspection at Barabanny”

Simultaneously with the Hi-Fi & High End Show 2018, held at the Aquarium Hotel of the Crocus Expo exhibition complex, a special exhibition “Continuation of the inspection on Barabanny” was operating at Audiomania. There you could see equipment from the same brands as in the hotel, but in a slightly expanded range and in different conditions, as well as ready-made installed recreational facilities kits.

Floor standing speakers Wharfedale Diamond 11.4

We know many examples when a manufacturer introduced unusual engineering ideas and super technologies into affordable class speakers just for the sake of a cool high-tech image, and not for sound. But the new eleventh generation Wharfedale Diamond is a special case. They have no right to deceive the expectations of loyal listeners.

Dynaudio Contour 60 loudspeaker review: Contours of inspiration

“Enduring Values” is about the Contour series of speaker systems from Dynaudio. In the 1990s, this line was the dream of most audiophiles who were just discovering the modern world of High Fidelity. In this article we will talk about the new incarnation of a series that has already become a classic.

Audiomania at Hi-Fi & High End Show 2018 – with continued inspection at Barabanny!

Audiomania once again takes part in the international exhibition Hi-Fi & High End Show, which will be held from April 13 to 15 at the Aquarium Hotel of the Crocus Expo exhibition complex. According to the already established tradition, simultaneously with the exhibition there will be a special exposition “Continued inspection on Barabanny”, where everyone will be able to visit three unique Audiomania showrooms. This significantly expands the possibilities of exposition of the exhibition format of hotel rooms for visitors. This year, Audiomania will present new solutions and technologies for high-quality music and movie playback under the brands Arslab, Old School, Penaudio, ICE, Cold Ray, Octave, Plinius and others.

Who's over fifty? Comparative test of Dali Zensor 5, Wharfedale Diamond 11.3 and Tannoy Mercury 7.4 speaker systems

Buying good speakers today has become not just, but very simple: the wealth of choice is akin to the assortment of Globus Gourmet compared to a grocery store in 1989. There is just one “but” - prices have risen radically in recent years, and, looking at the range of most companies, you understand one unpleasant thing: that “thousand dollars” for which in the late nineties you could buy large classic floorstanders has turned into a pumpkin.

Wharfedale Diamond 11.4 floorstanding speaker test: ensemble playing

Judging by the number 11 in the name, we can assume that this is already the eleventh generation of the Diamond series. From the very beginning it was positioned as an entry-level Hi-Fi and, according to the developers, was always able to compete with more expensive models in terms of sound quality and finish. Therefore, the updates in each release are exclusively evolutionary in nature.

Monitor Audio Silver 200 - the best floorstanding speakers in the line

Welcome to the sixth generation of Monitor Audio's Silver Series line. Of course, the distance of kinship is not as great as that between actor Donnie Dyer and King Edward III in the TV show Family History - but the road has been long, especially considering how delighted we were with each of the previous reincarnations.

PMC twenty5 acoustics review: twenty-five in the labyrinth again

The hierarchy of acoustic systems in our time can be considered established. Somewhere in the periphery of vision, electrostatic exoticism is growing. In the center, regardless of the presence of an amplifier or Wi-Fi, the speakers use the classic driver overclocking circuit. Yet one company is doing it their own way.

Arslab Classic 2.5 floorstanding test: the struggle for high sound fidelity

The classic Arslab series of acoustics is designed specifically for those who love Hi-Fi with their ears, not their eyes. Actually, how he should be loved. Personally, I was able to verify this during my time - speakers that have audiophile qualities at an affordable price. The new model with index 2.5 has a different set of emitters, but is in the same price group.

Old School Life Sound Systems. Review.

Modern approaches to hardware design, implemented in a distinctly nostalgic design, sometimes produce surprising results. This is the case with the Old School Life speakers, in which you simultaneously find features of both classic studio monitors and floor-standing “towers” of the progressive acoustic school.

“You have to be friends with physics” - a test of the Penaudio Legato Signature floor-standing acoustics. Magazine "Stereo & Video"

What can a young Finnish musician think about when contemplating the restrained beauty of his native nature? I don’t know, but such people seem to have interesting ideas, and it becomes even more interesting when they bring them to life. And a clear example of this is Sami Penttila, founder and “golden ears” of Penaudio. I was able to become acquainted with his understanding of High-End by listening to Penaudio Legato Signature systems. Definitely, our thoughts agree on some things.

Speaker systems Penaudio Legato Signature

Penaudio speakers are recognizable at first glance - slender bodies made of multi-layer birch plywood, large tweeters, light diffusers with copper “bullets” in the center, platforms with spikes... At the same time, as our tests have shown, each model has its own zest in its character . Will it be found in the new development of the Finnish master?

Penaudio Legato Signature. Fast legato

It is customary to position audio components according to many criteria: by price, by geographical origin, by the pretentiousness of the award-winning brand, etc., but besides this, which has little to do with the Sound of Tinsel, there is one very important point for some owners - the presence of author’s features, that is, what makes an industrial product an object of art.

Tannoy Revolution XT8F. The revolution continues, review. Portal "Soundex.ru"

These speakers are not for small spaces. The listening room should be at least 4x4 meters, and preferably larger. In a small room, the listener will literally be overwhelmed by a wave of powerful bass that will seem excessive. But if you give the speakers enough space, these Revolution XT8Fs fully reveal their remarkable potential.

Tannoy GRF90 speaker systems, review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

Even old phonograms are transmitted “cultured” - no dirt, no annoying noise, no hardware tint is felt. You can listen to your music archives from vinyl on the GRF90 for hours - with rapture and without the slightest fatigue. There are certainly no contraindications to playing modern recordings in High-Res format.

The Audiomania company decided to separate the Arslab Old School line of acoustics into a separate brand and released three premium models: Classic One, Monitor M1 and Monitor M2. The new products were first shown at the Munich High End Show this year and, according to the company, they aroused the interest of the public and distribution companies.

Waterfall Audio Victoria Evo – speakers with unique style and great sound

Some people still consider speakers in glass cases to be something frivolous and unworthy of the attention of real audiophiles. We present to your attention excerpts from an article by sound engineer and producer Jeremy R. Kipnis, published on the Positive Feedback website, in which he dispels these misconceptions.

Test of floor-standing acoustics Arslab Classic 2: a reason to listen to good music, review. Magazine "Stereo & Video"

“Happiness for everyone, for free!” dreamed a character in the famous book by the Strugatsky brothers. Arslab acoustics, I’m not afraid of this word, are a special (and therefore possible) case of the implementation of a utopian idea. Judge for yourself: all the hallmarks of High End, a meticulous approach to production quality and components, and most importantly, the price of a mid-budget model. All together, this occurs little more often than the free distribution of happiness in a single universe.

Acoustic systems DALI Zensor. Triumph of technology, review. Portal "Soundex.ru"

Once again, the triumph of technology is evident. Budget-level speakers demonstrate very good sound. Zensor speakers are universal performers without genre preferences that will play with almost any amplifier. But if you choose a good amplifier, source and cables, you can get a very decent, but inexpensive Hi-Fi system

Test of floor-standing acoustics Bowers&Wilkins 683 S2: fifth generation of the six hundredths, review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

The sound of the speakers is well balanced and does not cause fatigue even at high volumes. Instruments are confidently separated even in complex, rich compositions. The model reproduces acoustic works well, but it reveals its potential most fully in fast, dynamic modern music

Floor-standing three-way speakers Arslab Classic 3 with 4 speakers, review. Portal "www.ixbt.com"

The acoustics fully met expectations and are suitable for both stereo and multi-channel systems. Competent design, speakers from a company recognized in the audio industry and high-quality crossover components provide outstanding performance for such a budget, confirmed by both measurements and listening results.

Floor-standing speakers Arslab Emotion 2 SE, review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

Thanks to the wide directional pattern, the speakers can be placed at a distance of 3 - 4 meters from each other, and the entire stage will be evenly filled. Most recordings have two clear planes of depth, and in each of them the instruments are almost visually positioned across the entire width of the soundscape.

Floor-standing speakers Arslab Emotion 3 SE, review. Online magazine "AVREPORT.RU"

The sound of the flagships of the Emotion series leaves a favorable impression: a clean, transparent top, a fun, intelligible midrange, supported by a fairly deep, well-controlled bass. The speakers play without hiding emotions, liberated, but without unnecessary brightness.

Monitor Audio Bronze 5 review. Online magazine "AVREPORT.RU"

For budget-class speaker systems, the compact floor-standing Monitor Audio Bronze 5 models display rare confidence in handling musical works of different genres and demonstrate a set of qualities usually characteristic of more expensive speakers

Penaudio Rebel Four review. Online magazine "AVREPORT.RU"

Penaudio Rebel Four are floor-standing speaker systems with a balanced sound character, where the main role is played by the natural musical midrange and deep, smooth bass. Genre preferences - classics, chamber forms, acoustic music, as well as pop, rock and many other areas in which drive is not in the first place

Arslab Classic 2 SE review. Online magazine "AVREPORT.RU"

Arslab Classic 2 SE are unique speaker systems in their own way, with a design, sound quality and finish that is difficult to match with the affordable price of the speakers. If they cost two or three times more, we would treat them more calmly. Overall, the Classic 2 SE is one of the best floorstanding speakers that can be found today for around $1,000.

Speaker systems Monitor Audio Bronze 6, review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

The high timbral resolution for which Monitor Audio acoustics have always been famous, coupled with powerful presentation in the middle and lower registers, determines absolute genre omnivorousness. And a symphony orchestra, and hard rock charged with drive, and mind-blowing drum and bass - everything is presented in contrast, energetically, with fire. I’m not even talking about chamber music, which sounds simply mesmerizing when performed by Bronze 6. Each instrument seems to be in the ensemble, and at the same time stands out in relief from the overall picture.

The luminary of the Hi-Fi industry, Monitor Audio (UK) has updated the Bronze series speakers. Monitor Audio Bronze loudspeakers, the new, fifth generation, now have an even more advanced design, and some of the technologies are traditionally borrowed from older lines.

Monitor Audio Bronze: Hi-Fi cast in bronze, review. Magazine "Stereo & Video"

Each subsequent generation Bronze, Silver and Gold received technologies previously used in the series above. Thanks to this, budget models, after several generation changes, invariably acquire the properties of flagships. Well, since the recently released Bronze generation is the fifth in the company’s history, we can come to a simple conclusion that the current younger models are technically superior to the older ones of the first generations.

Floor-standing acoustics PMC Twenty 26, review. Magazine "WHAT HI-FI?"

Ultimately, we keep coming back to the word “balance.” We've heard louder-sounding speakers (including PMC models from the older Fact line), but few have managed to make music so engaging. This pair has virtually no flaws.

Floor-standing speakers DALI Rubicon 5, review. Magazine "WHAT HI-FI?"

DALI does everything its own way. Rubicon 5 seems to have a conventional 2.5-way design, but not everything is so simple: the “extra” half is served not by the usual additional woofer, but by another tweeter. The second, ribbon tweeter measuring 1.7x4.5 cm takes over from the conventional dome tweeter, starting at 14 kHz; Together they provide a wide angular radiation pattern at the highest frequencies and increase sound detail.

There is clarity! Floor-standing speakers Arslab Emotion 3 SE, review. Portal "www.hifinews.ru"

An acoustic system capable of conveying the “breath of music”, while remaining true to truth and precision. Made with soul and conscience. It plays classics, rock, and pop really well, allowing the music to reveal the depths of dynamic and timbral nuances. Focusedly “draws” the voices on stage. Confidently restrained, intelligent bass delivery with clear highs and expressive, detailed mids. Simply luxurious sound for the price.

Floor-standing speakers Arslab Emotion 2 SE, review. Online magazine "AVREPORT.RU"

Acoustic systems Arslab Emotion 2 SE are slender and attractive floor-standing models with an elegant design and piano lacquer finish. At the same time, Emotion 2 SE have a 3-way driver configuration with a pair of bass drivers and provide full, high-quality sound from bass to high frequencies, and all this at a price for which other manufacturers offer simple bookshelf speakers.

Floor-standing acoustics Arslab Classic 3 SE, review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

Ribbon tweeters offer extremely transparent, detailed sound, but are not used very often, especially in the budget segment. And the point is not so much their high cost, but the difficulty of matching them with diffuser heads. Arslab engineers still managed to create an affordable model with such emitters.

We talked with Artem about how they manage to make “High End-class speakers at a Hi-Fi price,” why prices, despite the crisis, have not increased for a year and a half, and why you shouldn’t be afraid of “made in China.” Our conversation began with a discussion of the recently introduced Old School bookshelf and Emotion SE slanted floorstanders.

Penaudio Rebel Four floor-standing speakers, review. Portal "www.hifinews.ru"

The new Penaudio, as before, offers clean, “respectable” sound with a slight Finnish “taste”. Noteworthy is the impeccable build quality and non-conveyor, artisan approach to each product. They play “carefully, but strongly.” In principle, they have no genre preferences. However, from the point of view of the brand philosophy, the tastes of the creators and the general “softness” of sound, they are still better suited for symphonic, instrumental, creative music.

Floor-standing acoustics PMC Fact 12, review. Magazine "Hi-Fi.ru"

PMC Fact 12 can be safely recommended to mature music lovers, to those who want to love music fully: both feel and analyze, fully accepting it as it is in a particular recording. Excellent midrange resolution, deep, musical bass and unobtrusive highs, and a huge dynamic range make them universal speakers for any genre.

Floor-standing acoustics Elac FS 247.2, review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

The technically advanced ELAC FS247 demonstrated exemplary reproduction of the upper register, where they can easily compete with very expensive acoustics. At the same time, the capabilities of the proprietary JET tweeter are not limited to an extended frequency band; in addition, the emitter is distinguished by incredible detail.

Floor-standing acoustics Elac FS 409, review. Magazine "Pro High End"

The FS409s exhibit a unique combination of analyticity and musicality; it would be an exaggeration to attribute this feature solely to ELAC products, but to find similar quality from other speaker manufacturers, you will have to climb into a slightly different price range.

Floor-standing acoustics Elac FS 409, review. Magazine "HI-FI NEWS"

I quickly discovered that the sound character of this ELAC model was a bit unusual (due in part to the high placement of the tweeter and midrange driver). I have achieved the best results by placing these speakers about 60cm from the back wall and turning them slightly inwards.

Acoustics Penaudio Rebel: bigger and louder, review. Magazine "Stereo & Video"

As company founder Sami Penttila said in an interview, his idea is simple: “The main thing is not volume, but purity of sound.” Nevertheless, the rather loud (in every sense) and popular acoustics from the Rebel line (translated from English - “uprising, rebel”) were updated and expanded with models Three and Four.

Onkyo set: stereo power amplifier M-5000R, preamplifier P-3000R + floor-standing speakers DALI Epicon 8, review. Magazine "Stereo & Video"

When we had the entire set of this equipment in our test laboratory at the same time, a completely logical desire arose to assemble a bi-amping system from the devices and listen to what happens.

Floor-standing speakers DALI Rubicon 5, review. Magazine "Stereo & Video"

Even at medium volume, the level and density of the bass is so noticeable that there is no desire to turn up the volume. It may seem to some that the model overemphasizes the low frequencies. However, we did not have such a feeling, since the bass does not break away from the main theme of the composition, but complements it harmoniously and weightily. The speakers left me with an extremely positive feeling and a desire to listen to my music collection again with “real” bass.

Floor-standing acoustics Elac FS 409, review. Magazine "WHAT HI-FI?"

The sound of ELAC FS 409 combines the qualities necessary for both in-depth analysis and savoring of the most complex and varied music, and for easy, tireless listening to popular melodies and rhythms. At the same time, they look great and can decorate the interior.

Floor-standing acoustics PMC Twenty 26, review. Magazine "Audio Store"

Floor-standing speakers Monitor Audio Silver 8, review. Portal "www.hifinews.ru"

The Monitor Audio Silver 8 is a stunning floor-standing speaker that sets a new bar for quality at its price point. Even taking into account the controversial decision to set a higher price for speakers with a lacquer finish, the quality/price ratio of this model is simply fantastic.

Floor-standing acoustics Elac FS 147, review. Magazine "WHAT HI-FI?"

FS147 boast a boundless and incredibly infectious enthusiasm. With their bold and energetic sound, they are somewhat reminiscent of an enthusiastic puppy. They will definitely appeal to those who often host parties at home. The mid-frequency range, which is most important for our hearing, is assigned to the proprietary 13 KLV5 driver with a braided Kevlar cone. Thanks to a special production technology, the developers were able to almost completely get rid of the characteristic resonances inherent in this fiber and minimize distortion at the signal peaks.

Cambridge Audio Aero 6 floor standing speakers, review. Portal "www.hifinews.ru"

Most manufacturers who want to achieve a "wideband" solid sound extend the bass into the midrange. But the Aero 6 has a different concept: a cohesive, detailed midrange that “seamlessly” transitions into the upper range, while the bass, left to other speakers, takes on the role of the foundation. Definitely, the idea was a success!

Floor-standing speakers Penaudio Sara S, review. Portal "hifiNews.RU"

Borrowing from the Cenya bookshelf speakers the excellent precision and clarity of musical imagery, as well as a slightly accentuated presentation of a separate high-frequency region (responsible for the “sensuality” and “liveness” of vocals and strings), the Sara S model adds greater depth of scale and “maturity” to the sound. .

Installers and interior designers are often asked: “Can a certain combination of colors, shapes and sounds instantly change the mood?”
Someone will immediately answer: “Well, it depends on...” And a more experienced comrade will agree that any human emotions are always subconsciously formed precisely on the basis of the three listed components.

However, the first news item on the list was the demo hall itself: a short documentary was shown, documenting the stage-by-stage implementation of the acoustic design project. The epigraph for the film was the famous “We built, built and finally built!” The main character was a screwdriver.

Penaudio Sara review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

In the mid-frequency range, everything is very precise and accurate, the sound is moderately detailed and rich in timbral nuances, which is especially noticeable on acoustic instruments and vocal compositions. Reproduction is open, free, without the slightest coloring. Thanks to the high crossover frequency of the tweeter and upper midbass bands, the entire singing range from bass to treble is transmitted naturally, vividly, with recognizable intonations of each specific performer.

But you can’t deny the musicality of the systems - they literally draw you into the listening process. The sound stage is built as accurately as possible, the space has the correct scale and clear localization of virtual sources. There is also depth separation, giving the sound stage a tangible three-dimensionality.

Ceratec Effeqt T Mk III review. Magazine "AudioVideo Salon"

The main advantages of these unusual speakers include the ability to completely dissolve in the sound space. At the same time, it evenly fills the entire listening room, and virtual images effectively appear in front of the listener. Despite belonging to the designer class, the systems clearly and legibly reproduce any musical genre, doing this in a completely non-aggressive manner.

Penaudio Sara floor-standing speakers, review. Magazine "WHAT HI-FI?"

These Penaudios have many worthy competitors, but the speakers look quite unusual, complement well the interior with a “Scandinavian” design and prefer the music that many of us associate with the Nordic countries - sensual vocals accompanied by acoustic instruments.

  • systems for home listening to hi-fi music,
  • home theater systems,
  • car acoustics,
  • studio monitor systems,
  • high-end acoustics,
  • acoustics for sounding events with a large number of listeners.

There are other, more specific categories. Depending on the category, the factors for choosing a particular speaker system acquire different significance. For example, when designing automotive systems, they usually start from the availability of free space in the car necessary to accommodate the system components; in the case of studio monitors, the linearity of the amplitude-frequency response (AFC) and the best transient and impulse characteristics come to the fore; in the case of high-end monitors, all indicators are sacrificed to the subjective sound quality. When acoustics are intended to be used for sound recording of public events, attention is first paid to the electrical power and sound pressure level that the acoustic system can provide at various points in space, as well as directional properties. Considering the above, it becomes clear that the requirements for acoustics belonging to different categories differ significantly. Each category of AS is a subject for separate discussion.

This article will mainly focus on speakers that are intended for sounding social events and will provide basic information related to the design and operation of such systems.

Number of lanes

We should start with the fact that a speaker is not capable of equally effectively reproducing the entire frequency range audible to the human ear, therefore, as a rule, speaker systems contain several speakers, where each emits in its own frequency band. Most often you can find 2- and 3-way speaker systems. The operating ranges of the speakers in such speakers are approximately as follows:

For 2-way speakers:

  • low frequency (LF) 20Hz-3kHz;
  • high frequency (HF) 3kHz-20kHz.

For 3-way speakers:

  • low frequency (LF) 20Hz-500Hz;
  • mid-frequency (MF) 500Hz-8000kHz;
  • high frequency (HF) 8000kHz-20kHz.

In 2-way speakers, horn-type speakers are predominantly used as high-frequency (hereinafter referred to as HF) speakers, because the use of a horn allows you to reduce the cutoff frequency of the working range of the high-frequency speaker to 3-5 kHz. If this value is lower than the highest cut-off frequency of the low-frequency (hereinafter referred to as woofer) speaker, then there is no need to include a mid-frequency (hereinafter referred to as midrange) speaker in the speaker system.

If a tweeter is used as a tweeter (HF without a horn), then often the lower limiting frequency of the range it reproduces is approximately 8-10 kHz. Let us remind you that a conventional woofer operates up to approximately 3-5 kHz. Obviously, in this case there is a need to use an additional speaker that reproduces the middle frequencies of the audio range, operating from 3-5 kHz to 8-10 kHz.

Acoustic systems designed to emit radiation in a narrow frequency band have become widespread. These speakers include subwoofers. Subwoofers emit in the lowest frequency range and can work exclusively in conjunction with the speaker systems discussed above.

Types of speaker enclosures

In speakers, an important role is played by the acoustic design in which the speakers operate. Acoustic design allows you to increase the radiation efficiency of an acoustic system in a certain frequency range. For the low-frequency speaker, the role of acoustic design is performed by the body of the speaker system. For a high-frequency speaker, the acoustic design is a horn. In both cases, one of the main tasks of acoustic design is to lower the lower limit frequency of the speaker's operating range.

As was said, the housing, to one degree or another, allows you to improve the quality of low-frequency reproduction by the speaker system. The size of the woofer and, accordingly, the speaker cabinet have a great influence on the low-frequency emission power. Also an important indicator is the design of the housing.

There are many types of speaker cabinet designs, but the most common are the following:

  • open type housing,
  • closed type housing (closed box),
  • phase inverted housing (phase inverter).

Their prevalence is due to the simplicity of their design and relatively simple calculations. For professional speakers used for dubbing events, the most optimal is a phase inverter type enclosure or a bass reflex (FI). Such systems make it possible to obtain high output at low frequencies, with the smallest dimensions and maintaining simplicity of design. A phase-inverted housing is designed for a speaker that has certain parameters specified by the manufacturer. In many ways, the quality of the bass reflex and, ultimately, the sound of the speakers ultimately depends on how correctly the calculation is performed.

A phase-inverted housing, in its simplest form, is a box in which there is a hole or a pipe of a certain length that connects the external space with the internal volume of the housing. Depending on the specific implementation, the bass reflex may contain several holes (pipes) of the same size. To ensure the calculated characteristics of a phase-inverted type acoustic system, it is necessary that the internal volume of the housing and the dimensions of the holes (pipes) correspond to the values obtained as a result of the calculation, as well as the reliability of the speaker parameters used in the calculation.

Active or passive execution

Another important detail concerns the amplifier for speaker systems. The market offers models of speaker systems in active (with a built-in amplifier) and passive (requiring an external amplifier) versions. Active designs are convenient in that they allow the consumer to not have to think about the mutual matching of the amplifier and speaker system in terms of power, reduce switching time, and do not require laying a thick cable to supply a powerful signal from the amplifier to the speakers.

When using passive acoustic systems, it is possible to centrally place all sound equipment (except for speakers), which simplifies the management of the complex, and also increases the convenience of monitoring the operation of the equipment during the event; if the speaker system or amplifier fails, only one component needs to be replaced, and not both at once; no power supply to speaker systems is required.

It is obvious that, depending on the specific operating conditions, active or passive systems should be preferred, or a set of equipment combining both options should be used.

The general trend is that the smaller the scale of the event, the more clearly the desire for equipment portability is manifested.

Selecting acoustic systems for professional sound recording of events

When choosing acoustic systems for sounding public events, they are primarily guided by the required volume level.

The quantity that determines the loudness of a sound is sound pressure.

When a sound wave propagates in each section of the sound field, periodic oscillations of the particles of the medium occur - compression and rarefaction. An area of high pressure is followed by an area of low pressure, and thus a series of alternating areas of compression and rarefaction are formed.

Alternating compression and discharge of the medium at a given point in the field cause changes in pressure relative to the static value. The difference between the instantaneous pressure value and static atmospheric pressure is called sound pressure. Sound pressure is measured in Pascals (Pa).

In practice, it is more convenient to use the sound pressure level - this is the sound pressure value measured relative to the zero level, i.e. such a level at which the sound ceases to be audible.

To select acoustic systems for professional sound recording, they start from the sound pressure level that must be achieved in various areas where listeners are located (calculation points), corresponding to the nature of the event. By measuring the distances from the specified points to the location of the speaker systems, the level of sound pressure that the speakers are capable of providing is determined. The sound pressure level is given in the speaker's passport or can be calculated using the following formula:

p1 meter = SPL + 10* lg(P), dB

p1 meter - Sound pressure level (1 meter)

SPL - Speaker sensitivity

P - AC power

This formula shows that each doubling of power increases the sound pressure level by 3 dB. The resulting value of the sound pressure level will be valid when the listener is at a distance of 1 m from the speaker. The sound pressure level at the design point is determined by the expression:

p r = p1 meter - 20* lg(r), dB

p r - Sound pressure level at a distance r from the speaker

r - distance from the speaker to the measurement point

For ease of calculation using the above formulas, you can use a special calculator located on our website.

Speaker sensitivity (at 1 Watt), dB

AC power, W

Sound pressure level, dB

Sound pressure level at a distance of 1 m from the speaker, dB

Distance from speaker to measurement point, m

Sound pressure level at a distance r from the speaker, dB

As you can see, the sound pressure level created by the speaker system depends on the sensitivity and power of the speakers, as well as on the distance from the speakers to the listening point. If the calculated sound pressure level created by the acoustic system does not provide the required level for sounding a given room, then the following measures should be taken:

  • choose a loudspeaker with greater sensitivity;
  • choose a loudspeaker with more power;
  • increase the number of loudspeakers;
  • change the speaker layout.

Features of operation of acoustic systems

One of the main factors that distinguishes the operation of acoustic systems intended for professional scoring from household speakers is that such systems are intended for a large number of listeners, and therefore must provide comfortable sound over a large area of space. Note that the perception of sound at a certain point in space is determined not only by the distance to the acoustic system, but also by how the acoustic system is oriented in relation to this point. The fact is that the listener’s displacement relative to the speaker at a certain angle, relative to the working axis of the speaker, leads to a feeling of a change in sound, and mainly in the amplitude-frequency characteristic. This is most clearly manifested in the high-frequency spectrum of radiation. The considered properties are clearly demonstrated by the directional diagram of the acoustic system, which is one of the passport characteristics of the speaker. The directional pattern of an acoustic system is a graphical dependence of the sound pressure level for a given frequency and distance to the speaker, on the angle between the operating axis of the speaker and the direction to the measurement point. The figure shows a typical speaker radiation pattern.

Directional acoustic systems have a directional pattern, which in the high-frequency range is a narrow lobe, and as the frequency decreases, it tends to expand. This is manifested in the fact that at low frequencies the acoustic system radiates in almost all directions, and with increasing frequency the field of sound radiation narrows. These properties of acoustic systems are a consequence of the physical nature of sound waves, which propagate differently depending on the frequency of the radiation.

Based on the speaker radiation patterns indicated in the passport, it is possible to determine the sound pressure level at a given point in space at a given frequency. An underestimated value can lead to noticeable frequency distortion and loss of sound intelligibility. As a measure to ensure the required sound pressure over the entire sound area, sound complexes are used, consisting of a large number of acoustic systems, where each system is directed to its own zone. Also, one solution to this problem is to use omnidirectional speaker systems, the position of the listener relative to which does not matter. Such systems include Aurophonic systems produced by ACTON. The use of such systems makes it possible to sound a large area with a minimum number of acoustic systems.

Which speaker system should you choose?

The market today presents mainly acoustic systems from foreign manufacturers. Many of these systems have high performance parameters and beautiful design. The only drawback is the high price... Therefore, there are always those who want to make a speaker system “with their own hands.” This means making a housing for the speakers, choosing speakers, making a filter.

Making speakers with your own hands becomes possible because it does not require the use of any special technologies. It is enough to have basic skills in working with tools and materials. The decision to manufacture it yourself will allow you to create a speaker that is not inferior in quality to foreign analogues, for less money.

This review is devoted to impressions of the modern speakers we listened to.

Looking for sound for stereo.

Marketing is already deep in us, so in the search for sound, initially there is a desire to buy something big, with a name and for a smaller amount

Therefore, the choice fell on the JBL Studio 580, at the time of writing the price is only 30,000 rubles.

Considerable weight 22.2 kg one speaker.

Unfortunately, this is where all the advantages end; this speaker is not suitable for listening to music. There are no details, no musicality, only impressive weight and size. There is nothing to write, not a single clue, there is no desire to listen after the first minute.

Let's look towards the ENGLISH Sound, in a modern version.

Castle knight 3 price 33800r.

Beautiful, very, nothing that the veneer is already swollen in places, not much, but very beautiful

The weight is not great, 10.7 kg, but we hope for a classic English sound.

We’ve been listening to them for longer, everything is in place, without embellishment, like the radio in my parents’ kitchen, everything is very simple, half the sounds are missing, but those that are there are not distorted.

Also put them aside. They are simply not suitable for music. As I read on some forum, BEAUTIFUL NIGHTBOOKS.

And look at the legendary speaker manufacturers from America

Still, I am primarily interested in speakers that will cope well with classic Hard Rock.

Klipsch RF-62 II price 55000-65000r

We place our hopes on these Aces, legendary manufacturer, weight 24.5 kg

We turn it on, but it is often not possible to distinguish whether it is a piano or someone playing the saxophone, a bass string or someone playing the trumpet. The color of copper is everywhere, as is the color of the speakers. Apparently the manufacturer calculated that some of the modern consumers need such a sound. We can’t stand listening for even a minute.

Cerwin-Vega SL-12 price 60800 rub.

The decision to listen to the Ac data was because I read somewhere that listening to heavy music is not bad.

We again have an impressive weight of 22.9 kg, a large woofer, and power.

We turn it on, SHOCK, the sound is as if the speakers were placed in a barrel, that’s where the sound comes from, then there’s nothing to write about again as far as music is concerned.

Quite suitable for scoring a rural disco.

Let's not lose hope in search of sound from America, Let's listen

KEF Q500 price 74400 rub.

Weight 15kg, Closed Box system, we hope to hear fast juicy bass.

In general, the Aces at their price are suitable for watching movies at home, you always feel that the resolution is not the same and the bass is not what you expected.

There was also a moment that it seemed that there was a delay between the music as a whole and their low frequencies, or, more precisely, it all sounded separate.

There’s nowhere to go, we need to increase the budget, we’re looking again towards England

B&W 683 price 95000r.

A speaker with which you can talk about sound.

There is a desire to listen, details, resolution, but something doesn’t suit me.

Again there is a feeling that part of the speakers was placed in a barrel, the bass is like from a basement or a bucket.

I read, they redesigned the crossover and had good impressions, but to give 100tr for an experiment???

Summary aside.

Listening to England

Monitor Audio Silver 8 price 99990r.

They look exactly the same as they cost, the weight of 23.33 kg is impressive

B&W 683,

683 has a more interesting mid presentation, the audio monitor is all neutral,

The result is that there is nothing that hooks the music, there are no impressions that I would like to convey and describe,

Let's see what else is presented from BRANDS

Tannoy DC6 T price RUB 101,750

In general, the speaker adequately plays jazz and blues, but with the low frequencies we will hear elastic fast powerful open bass

Vocals, beautiful, accurate. Most likely the merit is their proprietary solution The diffuser of the main speaker of the Dual Concentric module is made of specially impregnated paper and is driven by a voice coil with a diameter of 44 mm; the dome of the 25 mm tweeter is made of titanium.

They are not very universal, there is another drawback, such as there is no air volume in the scene.

The weight of 15.1 kg is not so great, but for this speaker it is apparently enough

It's already nice to listen to vocals here. Not suitable for anything heavy, but can be used already.

Nevertheless, for now this is quite budget-friendly by modern standards.

It seemed at that time that the budget was already large enough and it was possible to select speakers for comfortable listening to music of different styles, jazz, blues,

classic Hard Rock, vocals.

And we take a step away from the American representatives and English classics, CANADA

Paradigm Monitor 11 v.7 price RUB 101,900

Inspires a weight of 25kg

We listen, there are no ridiculous colors in the instruments, everything is quite correct, the sound is similar to the instruments that are being played.

The bass is present, not deep and not as fast as I would like, but it is already there. There is a certain depth of the stage.

Unfortunately, the details are also not enough; there is nothing to completely involve you in the musical work.

Conclusion, after all, this is for the cinema.

There is nothing to do, we make a difficult but hopeless decision, considering NEW speakers, increase the budget and return to ENGLAND

B&W CM8 price RUB 152,100

The weight of 19.5 kg is quite adequate for this size of speaker.

Definitely listenable, the depth of the sound stage is amazing I would say. The impression is often that it is not just stereo, but there is also a rear speaker.

The sound is neutral, the warmed-up speaker is already starting to produce bass, but it still doesn’t suit you, but there are already claims about elasticity and speed.

There is resolution, the details all seem to be in place. The mids are pushed a little forward, but there is a drawback that did not go away either during home use or in the listening room, which is covered entirely with carpet and sound-absorbing material: the bass string HUMMS. That's how I didn't twist them, on the marble and on the spikes, on the soft, nothing saved me. And after listening for a long time, it becomes also clear that the speaker was primarily created for the recreation center.

It was also possible to compare them with the older model

B&W CM10 S2 price RUB 253,600

weight 33.5 kg In general, there is no difference from SM 8, rather for a larger room area.

The nature of the sound, its presentation, crazy resolution, all this is the same as in the younger one, with minor improvements, but unfortunately with the same drawback

THE BASS STRING IS HUMMING. AND THE PRICE IS BITTER

Pay a quarter of a million rubles for a pair of speakers, you expect more

The eye catches another representative of ENGLAND

Monitor Audio Gold GX 200 piano black price RUB 214,990

The first speakers that played elastic, biting bass. Not a hint of buzzing or overlap of sounds. Everything is detailed separately, it hits the waves; by closing your ears, you can physically feel the blows of the waves. At the same time, it is quite harmonious, the sound is neutral, accurate, and not critical to the location in the room. All this ultimately merges into a single music and is listened to without fatigue or major criticism. With a little HF overkill. Which, in general, can be somehow corrected using the tone control on the amplifier.

The bass is not so low, but its elasticity can be forgiven for its speed.

The scene is correct, everything is detailed.

The first speaker that, on the whole, suited the INTENSIVE LISTENER.

Separately, we can say about the appearance, the beautiful gloss of piano black varnish, the cast-iron stand on spikes, the execution is excellent.

RESULT: Many people can afford speakers costing over 200tr for a regular stereo???

The speakers that took part in the test were not only listened to, but also underwent longer testing at my home. We also changed the amplifiers and the remake

and not new ones, including quite expensive ones, but a review of them will come later. There were also various acoustic wires, which slightly corrected something, but overall these speakers did not bring them to the level of musical ones.

My choice in this price category

Monitor Audio Gold GX 200 piano black

BUT, I thought, why not look for a sound that is not inferior to these speakers, but also at a higher level from the NENOVODEL.

When marketing was not so strong, or was absent altogether. There was an era when engineers calculated a product, and then gave it to economists so that they could calculate the cost and selling price. There are many interesting and in good condition preserved around the world. Everyone has speakers and other equipment at home, they bought them before, but for many they cost like furniture and their mileage is low. This means it should be possible to buy a good speaker and possibly a legendary one for less money.

In the next review I will tell you what I have achieved so far, of course where I will refer and compare with the speakers from this review.

A small speaker for 4,000 rubles with a number of interesting functions. For example, it supports playing music from a memory card, two MUVO 2c work in stereo mode, good sound quality for their size...

Design, construction

With the onset of spring and summer, interest in portable speakers increases again, so now is the time to talk about the current speakers from Creative - I will try to do reviews on both the Katana, a gaming soundbar, and the Sound Blaster X7 before the May holidays. The devices are the most interesting in their price category, like the Creative MUVO 2c.

The speaker comes in a plastic box, you don’t want to throw it away.

The device is available in four colors: black, blue, green and red.

As you can see in the photo, this is a very small device, and it doesn’t seem like you should expect anything serious. Meanwhile, the sound of the gadget is interesting, but we’ll talk about that later. The entire front part is covered by a metal grill, the rear is covered by a movable passive radiator, and the entire rear part is made of velvety plastic. There is a groove for attaching a strap. On the top panel there is a row of buttons: power on, selecting a sound source, adjusting the volume, switching to pairing mode. The two indicator lights are large and visible from afar. At the end there are 3.5 mm connectors, a slot for a microUSB memory card, and a microUSB input for charging. The plug is tight, the speaker has IP66 protection, so you don’t have to worry about splashes. Of course, I don’t recommend throwing the device into the bathtub, but you can use it in the bathroom, where drops of water can get in, without any problems.

There are no complaints about the assembly, the appearance is practical, the speaker easily fits in your pocket. Let's look at the functionality.

Additional functions

Unlike many other devices in this category, Creative tries to provide as many functions as possible even for budget products - whether they are necessary or logical does not matter. I think device users will also appreciate this. After all, it’s always nice to get more for money comparable to your competitors. You can connect the device via Bluetooth and listen to music - these are basic features. If you want more, please take a microSD memory card with a capacity of up to 64 GB (you can try more), load FLAC files (or MP3, WAV, WMA) there, switch to mode, insert into the slot, listen to music without any newfangled “Bluetooth” . Here you can also take a call and talk, and the quality of voice transmission is not bad, the function can be used. The AUX connector is also useful, but this is for the most extreme cases.

I tried inserting a 32GB card with MP3 files and it worked without any problems. By the way, the speaker can work as a card reader, that is, you can connect it to a computer and manipulate the data on the card.

The icing on the cake is that two Creative MUVO 2cs can work as a stereo pair. Windows PC owners can connect the speaker to their computer and use the Sound Blaster Control Panel utility to adjust the sound. It seems to me that in the case of a speaker of such a small size this is already unnecessary - but here we again return to the fact that Creative adds functionality from older models even to budget devices.

Working hours

The stated operating time is about 6 hours when playing at full volume, charging time from the USB-A port is about two and a half hours. Fast charging is not provided. For a compact device this is not bad.

Music

I listened to Jamiroquai - Automaton, you know, it’s an amazing feeling when you get more than you expect. It's all about a well-chosen speaker, a passive radiator, and how long they tested and checked the speaker, achieving ideal sound for such dimensions. As a result, it’s loud, there’s bass, there’s no mess, there’s no distortion, there’s no unnecessary metal, you can listen for a long time, and it’s not even disgusting. I think it’s very nice to have the Creative MUVO 2c with you on trips, minimal size and weight, a lot of sound.

conclusions

The retail speaker costs about 4,000 rubles; on the one hand, there are competitors from JBL, on the other hand, Creative offers a completely different level of functionality: work with memory cards, a speakerphone, a stereo pair. Good sound quality with minimal dimensions, no questions asked. I didn't find any serious flaws. So you can safely buy yourself a companion for playing sports in the yard, jogging, cycling, traveling - in all scenarios the Creative MUVO 2c will be in place.

One of the minor drawbacks is that I still didn’t understand how to insert the plug back correctly. No, it holds up, everything is fine, but the upper part sticks out a little. And one more piece of advice, don’t put the speaker on its back, the passive radiator hits the table, the speaker rolls around - in general, never do that.

Introduction
Yes, I know that it’s probably too late to do a review, but this is my first review and I decided to do it on the sensational AC 3 since it will attract a lot of people - the series has a lot of fans, there are haters, etc. I myself am skeptical about the series - the gameplay is interesting, but the history and historical facts are variable (interesting, lame, absent, stupid). This is especially true for historical facts.

Roots
The scriptwriters approached their work more than scrupulously. Unlike previous installments, where the hero appeared out of nowhere and immediately got into trouble, Assassin's Creed 3 shows Connor's story from the very beginning. And even more: we meet his father and go through several missions for him, and then save his mother. Naturally, this couple soon begins a passionate romance, which ends quite predictably: the hero-dad leaves his beloved to babysit, and he sets off to conquer the world.
Connor, meanwhile, grows up as an ordinary Indian boy: plays hide and seek with his neighbors, explores impenetrable forests and... one day he comes face to face with the most real evil. The evil that came to the lands of his people to take them away, tear them apart and build houses and factories in their place, and turn the Indians into slaves. The boy sees how his fellow tribesmen, one after another, surrender under the onslaught of everyday problems, and goes into the unknown to find himself, become a great warrior and protect his family.
As a result, he gets to the house of an elderly assassin, who decides to take Connor as an apprentice and teach him everything he knows about the art of war. We see how a young man turns into a man step by step. How his heart becomes harder, his fists stronger, and his mind colder. After a third of the game, we finally understand what our mission is, who we must kill in order to protect not only our family, but all of humanity as a whole.
And here the authors begin to brazenly grab us by the collar and drag us into the most boring real world, in which the weakling Desmond and his team rule the roost. Thank God, there weren’t many of these outings, so we didn’t have time to completely hate this mattress. But something definitely needs to be decided about this: Desmond’s storyline has finally begun to reach a dead end, so the fact that the writers don’t want to see him in the next part is a significant event, but expected. However, there are a couple of interesting discoveries about our world, and especially about what it will turn into if we don’t do something (which we won’t specify specifically so as not to spoil the surprise).

Home and foreign land
As in the second part, in Assassin’s Creed 3 two concepts such as “home” and “foreign land” are of great importance. Relatively speaking, home is a location in which we are rulers and gods. It depends only on us whether this region will prosper or sink into poverty and chaos. To do this, we need to carry out so-called “home” missions. All of them, as a rule, are aimed at helping wanderers who accidentally wander into our territory. You saved a man from certain death - you offered him to settle on your land - you received a valuable ally who will build a house and start his own business.
In a nearby bay there is an old, but still strong ship, on which we can regularly go to sea, make dangerous raids for valuable cargo and thereby contribute to the development of the entire region as a whole. Naturally, there were also large-scale water battles: we are regularly attacked by enemy flotillas who dream of sinking our ship. We respond to them with a hail of cannon shells and deft maneuvering between the rocks. It turned out beautiful and quite entertaining. Of course, not a full-fledged simulator, but the move on the part of the developers is correct.
Another way to usefully kill time is to go hunting. Each location has so-called “hunting territories”. All kinds of living creatures live here: from harmless rabbits and cunning foxes to ferocious bears and wolves hunting in packs. We can track our victims by moving along tree branches. Or by setting snares into which unfortunate rabbits fall. Or, throw food on the ground, and then, hiding in nearby bushes, finish off the unfortunate deer with one blow. After the animal is defeated, we can remove its valuable fur and cut it into juicy steaks - both of which will be of great use on the farm.
But all of the above is about the world, not the game. But with the game in Assassin’s Creed 3, everything is far from being as ideal as we would like. And we'll start, perhaps, with missions. To be honest, the authors simply screwed up here. Most of the tasks are remakes of everything that we saw in the first and second parts. You won't find anything original, bright, or breathtaking here. I don’t know why we couldn’t try to fantasize, offer us to perform some non-standard tasks... Everything again comes down to “track-trace-find”, and then “kill-kill-kill”.
The lack of variety in missions also hit the combat system itself hard. The authors seem to have forgotten that they are creating a full-fledged third part, and not just another addition to the second. Having added several new weapons, they nevertheless left the combat mechanics itself virtually untouched. As always, we must parry the enemy’s attacks in time; if the enemy is strong, then break through his defenses and only then attack. The number of techniques has increased, but there is no feeling of novelty.
And if in the main story campaign this is not so noticeable - here, nevertheless, the missions are somehow different from each other - then when it comes to secondary tasks, then it’s time to shout the guard. So, in Boston there is a whole movement for independence, and we can play a significant role in this movement. True, for this we will have, as in previous parts, to liberate one area of the city from invaders after another. Well, you remember how it was in the second part. Only now the role of universal evil is played by the British invaders.
So, each such secondary mission ends, as a rule, in a big brawl involving dozens of enemies. And we are forced to beat them until they are blue in the face, until our fingers begin to go numb. And it is at this moment that you clearly understand that the authors have not offered you anything radically new. Significantly improved old - yes, but there is nothing new here.

Big hopes
Don't have high hopes for the multiplayer mode either. Despite the fact that new types of fights have appeared here, it itself remains the same as before. We again hunt down the enemy and then try to kill him. They lit up - and they themselves got a knife in the back. You can spend a couple of evenings playing this game, but the feeling that we were seeing a big content patch for the second part did not leave us. What is more important is that, as before, as the level increases, we gain access to a variety of secret documents. And there’s a lot to read and see here – that’s what we’re playing for!

Conclusion
Pros: big new world; new hero; good script; excellent new types of weapons; hunting; sea battles.
Minuses: the combat system could be more varied; most of both story and side missions look like self-copying; multiplayer should have been redesigned on a larger scale.
Well, the conclusion itself: Assassin's Creed 3 amazes with its huge, detailed world. It's a pity that the game mechanics are not so deeply developed.
